Anyone know what's up with Joe Rock?

Is Joe on vacation? There haven't been any updates to the OOTP Download Center for two and a half weeks now.

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

I posted the same thing the other day, no one knows. Probably on vacation. He is amazingly prompt about adding updates to the site, so I have to assume that he is 'away.'

It's been almost a month now - the last update was 6/11. Anyone know what's up?

Joe's last update was June 11th, and tomorrow is July 11th.

Anyone have any idea what's up?

Oh man.... I really really really hope we don't lose him. The Download Center is an invaluable resource.

I think that someone had better go download it all fast. In the past sites have gone unresponsive like this just before they went away.

Any further word on this suggestion or on JoeRock? Or did I miss an update in the recent forum crash?

And went walkabout right after this inquiry. But MD has taken extended absences before.

If I recall, he mentioned having a long time friend with worsening health. Those occasions have a way of growing into large time investments.

I've been gone but not AWOL. One family friend died, then another one committed suicide right afterward, and then one required institutionalization, and it just turned into a huge problem full of time-consuming issues. Just as it was finally wrapping up Hurricane Katrina hit and I got activated for that nightmare, and then while we were still doing Katrina stuff Hurricane Rita started coming in and we had to go handle that.

IOW, things have not been fun lately. But life is finally sort of almost returning to something like I remember it being once, and I'm sort of back.

And no one has any clue what happened to Joe Rock? Damn, he'll be missed.

I wouldn't have put it quite that way, but yes, it really, really did.

Thank you. Now all that I have to do is a lot of backed up home stuff to do. Plus my wife bought us a monster TV and a TiVo that works with our home network to play music from her PC through the main stereo set while I was gone - couldn't have got away with it had I been home - so today I am doing wireless networking and for some time I will be building an all-new, much larger, home entertainment center instead of doing much OOTP. Argh.

He builds a great download center, spends a lot of time setting it up, and then vanishes without a word. Odd.

Maybe he went to look for Jeff Cato and Teflon Skies.

hey home entertainment centers are never a bad thing. Wish I had about 5G's to blow on that, I've got the basement for it.

But if he went looking for CATO and such, he's gone for good. That's the OOTP abyss that is

...unless your wife insists that you build them from scratch.

ahhh ok I gotcha now. While that sucks I'd have to do that anyways (live by myself). Although myself I'd just get a projector, a screen and be done with it

As my grandfather, father, and uncles used to tell me, "Just wait until you get married. Everything will be different."
