Another Patch in the Works?
Just wondering if anyone knew if there's another patch pending soon, or if that's more of a down-the-road as-needed type of thing ...

Issues have been reported to Markus but only he knows if anything more will be forthcoming for this version.

There are still bugs in 6.5a. They should be fixed. That's all.

Scan the forum and read.
Here is one: When you import real rookies, you have to tell it where the database is every season. Power is way overboard for historical simulations. Run a historical simulation from 1950 or 1960 and people hit 60-70 homeruns. (Don't say, but you can tweak that). Quote:

I just had the computer offer me a trade AFTER the deadline. I wish it would have been a decent offer, so I could have seen if it went through, but I declined it.

And to release the expansion pack, then one week later release a patch and then give it NO support after that? Come on...

How about the playoff lineups during the 40 man roster? In order to put them back to AAA they need to go on waivers or be released. I don't think thats how it should be.

And those concern me. I'm making the grand, leaping assumption that the 6.5a mention in that forum will get the attention it deserves on these issues. I just added the resurfacing of the old ejection substitution problem where a player is eliminated from possible play because he filled a roster slot in the lineup until the AI picked the replacement position player for the field.

What Comedian points out I don't find to be bugs. Of course it's going to ask you where the rookies are. And as for the "power surge", well that's just being careless. You can tweak the totals to get it done to where you want. There, I said it.
I've heard about the All-Star game overwriting the games for that day, but that's a scheduling issue. If you just set it to no All-Star game and make sure the schedule sets up normally, you should be fine. I have had no issues when the schedule is on the same routine. I never use the All-Star game. I've never heard of the copying of players during the All-Star game. Again, I don't use the ASG so I wouldn't know. Actually, I don't have 6.5 or the patch to go with it so maybe I shouldn't be talking. |

Careless? What are you talking about? I click on HISTORICAL LEAGUE and pick what year I want and DO NOT change any settings. That is what someone trying the game for the very first time is going to do. And they will get way too many homeruns.
I can understand it asking the 1st time, but why ask every time? Why when you say 'simulate for X years' and walk away, after one year it STOPS the simulation and waits for you to answer the questions? Kind of defeats the purpose of this function. Also, if you pick the above function, and you have STOP for No-hitter, etc. on, it does stop. The obvious reason for this 'simulate for X years' is to simulate 10-50 or 100 years without interuption. At least if is going to ask you, if after a couple minutes you do not reply, then continue the sim. Quote:

If I am thinking correctly -- Major League Baseball will ask that you identify your Playoff 25 man roster .. it also allows you to sub for injuries with a player from the 40 man roster at the start of each series... but I have just looked at moving players the last day of the regular season or NOT calling up players without option years remaining if I am likely to qualify. .
