1.5 star players

Are gone in v 6.5? I noticed that there are a lot of 1.0 star pitchers, then I found out that's because there aren't any 1.5 star pitchers. I checked a few rosters and noticed there aren't any 1.5 star players. So I started editing a player (Julio Franco, btw) and noticed that he jumped right from a 1 to a 2 star player and back again as I edited him.

Hmm...a pretty strange choice. I don't like it. I assume it was a design choice, but maybe (hopefully) it's a bug and we'll see the return of the 1.5 star player.

Or maybe nobody else is having this problem and I'm crazy, which is a strong possibility.

Interesting, I would imagine this is a bug if it effects all leagues...

I've got a 1½-blue-star player here and there, but almost no 1½-gold-star players (a total of two in two leagues I checked).

Yeah, I hadn't noticed that til' I read this thread. I have no 1.5 star guys in any of my leagues, either. Good to see that it's getting cleaned up, those .5 stars are a world of difference to the eye sometimes, lol.

And they make a big difference. It's probably the most important star assignment when you're doing quick analysis (which is what stars are good for anyway). That extra half star seperates players who might make a good addition to your roster from hundreds of dead weight 1-star players.

This initially struck me when I realized that Jose Lima, an SP with 60's across the board, was only a 1 star player in my Des Moines Derelicts dynasty. Given what I deduced as the average SP I figured he'd be a 1.5 or 2 star.

Markus, thanks for stopping in and updating us. And, of course, KUTGW!

In creating players for Victory League's amateur draft, I try to get a good mix of players of all star ratings, and when I was doing this season's (using v6.12) I turned on the editor and made a 4.5-star prospect and then when I turned it off and the ratings switched back to the 1-10 scale we use, they were either 4 stars or 5 stars. I don't remember offhand if I did end up getting any 4.5-star guys but I know I had a hard time doing so.

What do the stars represent now? Is there a new baseline off of a replacement level concept or are they still ranges off of a league average?

I checked the free agents in my Halofan roster set league and there are 21, 1.5 star players and about 100 one star. There are also about 30, 2 stars so it appears to have been fixed in 6.5a

Thanks. And could you fix that little thing that causes entire career stats to come in when you import players from Data bases.

Muchos Gracias, Senor Markus

Yeah, if you could make it so that the career stats come from one database and the ratings from another datbase that would be absolutely awesome. I've been meaning to ask for this for awhile.
