The Eastern League / Southern Association 1947 season has just come to a close. The Scranton Red Sox defeated the Birmingham Barons 4 games to 1.
A few teams have come available at the end of the year.

The Atlanta Crackers had the second highest revenue in the league but suffered the worst season in league history with a 40-98 record. Their pitching staff is in shambles but they have two of the best hitters in the league in Bo Burnett and Timothy Rose. They have the 1st pick in the draft and turned a $5M profit last season which should put them in good shape to sign free agents. Their minor league system is 5th out of 16.

The Mobile Bears came in 7th in the S.A. with a 63-75 record. They are a balanced team, but lost a lot of money this past season and need to be turned around financially before they can contend. They will pick 4th in the upcoming draft. Their minor league system is 7th out of 16.

The Binghamton Triplets finished 60-77, good enough for 6th in the Eastern League. This team is in utter financial hell, but has over $15M in salary coming off the books for 1948 and more bad contracts (~$10M) leaving after next season. Binghamton will pick 3rd in the upcoming draft and their minor league system ranks 11th in the league.
