Potent Draft class:feedback needed
Hey, i am in this league, and every year we've had a draft, its been normal, a couple dominant players all the way down to those who will never make it. Now this season, this is the new draft available players.
http://www.loho-ootp-online.com/league/rookies.html Has the commish tampered with the player creation modifiers? Or is it possible that ootp will have a freakish draft where there is no player who is not rated below a 5star player in the draft. I just think this draft will ruin the league, making most current players obsolete in a season or two. Please give feedback. |

Thats a pretty ridiculous class, and would definitely hurt the league.

I don't know who changes what in your process, but I have seen that sort of set before where the ratings in some categories were even a bit higher.
It happened to me here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...49&postcount=1

interesting that most of the players not matter what the age seem to be in the 32-38 out of 100 range in contact. I would be willing to guess that most of those 21-23 year old players don't reach their potential for a while if at all. Just clicking on a bunch of random offensive players I also noticed that the ratings are well below the talents and all sort of grouped together.
Contact (30-40) Gap (70's and 80's) Power (6-16) Eye (1 for every player so far) Avoid K (100) Pitchers seem to share Stuff (15-30) Control (70's and 80's) Movement (25-40) It would be interesting to see how many of these players actually pan out.

I also doubt most of the guys will develop after looking at ages and current talents. This is a very good league and what would the commish get from cheating? His team is not that good and the league has been running for at least 4 real years (we've started).

That's amazing, what's even more amazing is that last guy who is 100 in everything, but a 2 in eye. Basically won't walk, won't K, just get hits and HR. That is one of the most ******ed classes I've seen in a while and 100% not natural. As was said above, shop for a new league.

I agree 100%
I'd be shopping around for a new league. That is a stupid looking draft class. The whole league could be turned upside down with that many hitters coming into the league in one season. I cannot see there ever being a draft class that is that awesome when it comes to hitting...

If it looks like a duck, walks like a dick, and quacks like a duck, it's either a duck or it's close enough to a duck as to make no difference.
Time for a new league.

Silly I know. But that cracked me up.Ahem. Yes. I've stated earlier in this thread how it occured in my world: faulty manipulation of data. Period.

General statement:
If you don't feel like you can trust the commissioner you shouldn't be in the league, period. Edit - FWIW I think the final result of going to the pre-button file and generating a new class is a good decision, that class just doesn't seem right and would drastically change the power structure in any league (sure most may not pan out, but if even just 20 % of them do, you'd have more 5 star players in the league from that one draft then most would have had in several seasons). He obviously tampered with the Player Creation Modifiers. All he has to do is go to the League Setup > Misc. > 1st Yr Draft change it to offseason, then change it back to June 1st and the players will be reset (as long as modifiers are 0%)
