Fictional Player Career Length

Is there a way to give a fictional player a long or short career? Does career length have any relational to player lever (star, bench, etc)?

Depends on the player. I have had superstar pitchers play for 24 years. Health and skill are factors.

That sounds like a question from a former Mogul player. In OOTP you have no control over how long a player plays for.

edit: Unless you're in commish mode and can unretire a player. I've had player play into their 50's that way

As has been said, you can't really dictate the length of a single player's career.

You can change the overall aging standard in a game universe, by increasing or decreasing the Batter Aging and Pitcher Aging speeds (changing Batter Dev. Speed and Pitcher Dev. Speed can also have an effect on the overall process, as can Talent Change Randomness).

I have high developement speeds in my league and low aging speeds like sub 1.000 and sometimes as low as .100

So what if a great player has a career ending injury after five years? Can you somehow bring him back?
