This is a good view of the action. Watch closely as Brooks, face down, turns his head to the right and up, locating Mitchell. Then he does his arm-swinging turnover, right on target.
Because the Grizzlies are in the west, and we don't have NBA TV or NBA League Pass, we don't see them very often. So I'm not that familiar with the kind of player Brooks supposedly is.

But it looked intentional to me. From Mitchell's remarks later it seems that he is familiar with Brooks from during his time in Utah. And from what Kendrick Perkins said earlier today, there is and has been an issue with Brooks and the way he plays.

Donovan Mitchell is too smart to react the way he did unless there was a very good reason. He has been dealing with a groin injury for a couple weeks now, and it looks like he is still bothered by it. I expect him to miss a few more games now, either because of the injury or through suspension. It's great that the Cavs players and coach are standing firmly behind him.

My wife and I were at the Cavs vs Heat game on Tuesday, way up in the nosebleed seats, but even from that distance it was obvious that Mitchell isn't 100%. But of course the Cavs are going to keep issues like that close to their chest.

My daughter's boyfriend is a sportswriter and NBA fanatic (lucky me!! ). They were visiting last Thanksgiving and he wanted to watch a particular ballgame, so he put NBA League Pass on my TV (he gets the account from a buddy of his). So far, it's still working! I keep thinking that at some point it'll be shut down for some reason, but not yet... (Knocks on wood...)

What I’ve heard was that this came specifically because he and the Nets reached an impasse because the Nets wanted a lot of his contract to be tied to games played bonuses. I think you can understand why the Nets were adamant about it, and if you’ve followed Irving at all, you’ll know why he didn’t want that.

The NBA is by and large pretty generous with their media rights.
They very rarely go after social media users who post clips, highlights or whatever as long as it's not super egregious or they try and make money from them.

Well unless your a Nuggets fan.
Then you cannot even watch your own team in your home market

Nets knew they hired a walking twilight zone when they signed him. Ownership is the least of people I feel sorry for. I feel just the same for the Nets as I do for the Bucs & Brady after they had to deal w/Anotnio Brown.

If I'm B'lyn I just ignore him. Unless there is someone else in the league w/enough psychiatrists on retainer to get his sage burning butt to the game on time. He can just sit out and not get a game check. All he's doing in speeding up the process to end up in the Australian Basketball League.

He held his own his first two years at UNC and then blossomed his Junior year.
I had no idea he was a college teammate of Jordan and Sam Perkins.

I knew he was a teammate of Kenny Smith since Kenny has brought him up before.

He turned into a very good NBA player before back injuries began to take their toll by the 92-93 season and he would have to retire at age 30 after not playing since the 93-94 season.

He is kind of forgotten about now. I had no idea he began college at 16. That was very cool to find out about.
That 1984 Tar Heel team may have been the best never to reach the Final 4.
Jordan, the GOAT.
Perkins 2time All-Am and one of the 1st stretch 4's before there was a stretch 4.
Daugherty, future 5 time all Star & consensus all-Am.
Kenny Smith, consensus All-Am & starter for 2 time NBA Champ,
Joe Wolf, All-ACC & 12 yr NBA vet
Dave Popson, 3 yrs NBA
Cecil Exum, future lottery pick Cecil Exum, Jr's dad
Buzz Peterson & Matt Doherty, 2 future HC's @ Power 5 colleges
And Steve Hale, who put aside a potential basketball career to become one of the state's leading doctors.

As Mitchell said, this is not Brooks' 1st incident. No one these days wants to call someone a dirty player. But you can't have this many foul ups and just be at the wrong place at the wrong time. His name belongs w/Grayson Allen, the Morris twins & Patrick Beverly as some of the NBA's most dirty players.

Big Smooth is always in my brain as a stretch 5 because whenever he hit a 3 the Sonics PA announcer would be like THREEEEEEE POOOOOOINTS SAAAAAAM PERRRRRRRKINNNNNNNMNS

Also, that man had to have the flattest looking 3 ever. No arc whatsoever haha it just looked like a line drive coming out of his hands.

We had NBA TV until March 2020. At that time my then-employer switched to a work-from-home business model in response to COVID. But I had a lot of difficulty staying logged in to the company network. Spectrum told me, "That's because you are still on your old Time Warner bundle. You need to upgrade to the Spectrum bundle. You will have much faster internet, and you will have all the same channels you had with Time Warner. Plus, it will actually cost less!"

Well, surprise! When I "upgraded" we had much faster internet, which made it possible for me to stay employed. But we lost a lot of channels, including several like BeIn, which I used to watch every day. PLUS...cable now costs MORE each month. Life was better back when TV was free. We had only 3 channels and one phone company.

We hate Spectrum. Finding a new cable service is one of my planned projects for this winter. But I have been putting it off. Just trying to settle in with the more simple life of a retired person. I hate talking to cable TV companies, phone companies, insurance companies, doctors' offices, etc. It is much less stressful to sleep late, eat breakfast, go for a walk, and spend the rest of the day reading or studying chess.

My wife is the real NBA fanatic, and I keep asking her "Sweetie, don't you want to get NBA League Pass?" But she has become more thrifty since we retired. So, no NBA League Pass.

NBA trying to get that drama going on the 1st weekend of the year w/no NFL.

Austin Rivers went to Mo Bamba on the sidelines & a brawl ensues.

The start

Whatever Bamba said, it must have been a doozy. Look & Fultz's reaction.

I keep reading Bamba came off the bench. Bamba got out of his seat, but didn't come off the bench. Rivers came to the bench like he was about to take a seat. At that point, he is an uninvited guest in the Magic home.

Let's keep it real.

Me too. Knowing Rivers though, it probably could have been benign. He's been a phony punk since HS. A billion $ ego & a chump change game.

He is a Duke grad, so that does make sense… seriously, how is it that like half of the truly trash players in NBA history went to Duke?

The Lakers have LeBron James' blessing on trading for Kyrie Irving. Or is it a mandate, coming from him? The man speaks with the authority of a pharaoh.

Would a Kyrie Irving deal give Lakers a lift? LeBron James answers, 'duh'

What a surprise, LeBron is more interested in winning championships than if someone is a bigot.

LeBron is to Kyrie as Brady is to Antonio Brown

I have to say, one thing I like about Barkley is that not only did he never present himself as a role model, he explicitly told kids that he wasn’t one. MJ got a lot of heat recently for staying out of politics; stuff like this is why. You set yourself up as a person with principles, people are going to require you to hold up to them, even when they involve friends.

Edit: I read some other articles that say otherwise, so maybe the jury is out on that. I saw Brady say that he supported Brown, but not that he directly pushed for the Patriots or Bucs to sign him.
