That is a very valid point. I won't be using these rosters until the salaries are more or less accurate. In the beta version, Kevin Brown made $350,000. While my pocketbook was grateful, it really sucked the challenge out of working around his contract. Giambi became a free agent in 2004. A-rod in 2005. It just lost the feel of authenticity. I downloaded an updated OOTP4 roster that has much better contracts and am using that.

I used grimosw's roster for OOTP4 since it was the only one with real contracts. Most people haven't even heard of that roster, but I spent a great deal of time looking for one just like it.

I appreciate all the hard work by GeForce, Rolen, et al, but I'll be waiting until v2.

I agree that close to accurate contracts are a nice addition. The point I was making is that had Hell Atlantic read the entire thread like a good many others have, he would have realized that the beta version was just an update with real names. All the other tweaks and additions will be coming later, with close to accurate contracts being one of those. He also would not have needed to make his first post seem like a slam on GForce's hard work.

I used the GForce/Rolen rosters for OOTP4 and they are by far the best rosters I have seen for any sports sim, and I have had many.

Again, keep up the good work!

Hey all,

OK, version 1 of TotalMinors will be out THIS Sunday, March 16.

Included will be:
Complete Split Adjusted Hitter and Pitcher Ratings
Fixed Schedule
Accurate Manager, Coach, Minor League Manager and Stadium Names
40-Man Rosters as of the End Of February (a couple of changes since then, but they are guys who will eventually be added anyway)
Updated Transactions (Cust to the Orioles for Richard, Rogers To The Twins, etc.)
And Partial work on:
- Speed and Fielding Ratings
- Contracts

I'll do as much as I can of the last two items by Sunday, with the rest to be done in v2 (target March 23).

Hopefully, I can add the top 30 prospects by Opening Day, but I may need an extra week since I got slowed up these past two weeks for obvious reasons.

Played a game of OOTP holding my son last night..doesn't get better than that!!

Take care guys and thanks for the support and patience.

This is my first post but I've been on the forums for a while. I look forward to your V1 rosters. Not starting a franchise without them.

Just one thing though. The TotalMinorsBeta rosters had the wrong pitch types for Tim Wakefield of the Boston Red Sox. He didn't even have his Knuckler and he threw 96 mph fastballs!

Just letting you know, maybe you should check your rosters to make sure. Thanks!!

Pitch types are lowest priority as they have nothing to do with the game. If time allows, I will gladly adjust them for the opening day set or an update, but since they have no impact on the game they aren't a high priority. For a game like High Heat this would be a different story. Like I said, I will gladly do them down the line if time allows, but the highest priorities are things that really impact the game.

also, a side note.

Player speeds, range and arm ratings should be mostly done for v1. The contracts probably won't make it in until v2 though. The speed and ratings things are more important and I wanted to get those adjusted first, and since I already pushed back v1 a week, I don't want to push it again. These releases are really just to keep you updated as to the progress of the work, given the debacle last year dragged into.
I would wait until opening day to really get into a deep franchise, but I certainly can appreciate wanting to get started.
The contracts will definitely be in v2, however many I can find. I know these matter for a lot of people, and grismosw's idea of reducing salaries to 70% of actual seemed to work well to me. He's updating his sheets for me and will be incorporated as soon as I get them. If I get his stuff today and blaze through adding the above ratings, I'll at least start on salaries/contracts today. But my wife told her mom we'd go there for a few hours today which cuts into my work time.
I'll have a better update late tonight or early tomorrow as to what exactly v1 will have and a list of the v2 inclusions. v1 will be released LATE Sunday as I will stay up as late as I can to get as much in as I can. Of course, baby Austin has a big say in time
Thanks for the continued support.

bulldog55 :

i used GeoForce's roster set, but i edited the contracts using baseballreference.com, or whatever site that was referenced a page or two ago that lists contracts. i didn't do it for every tom dick and harry, but i wound up correcting pretty much every main guy or guy with name value that i would be upset with not having the correct salary.

the thing that is useless about the totalminors beta is that all salaries are pretty much defaulted to $300-$350k. i find that's why all payroll's are low.

but with my editing i've got the payrolls and player contracts up to a level that i was very comfortable with. obviously some guys fell through the cracks, which is ok cuz i'm not concerned with 100% accuracy since i don't know every player's contract situation anyway. i'm fine with the minors rosters the way they are - i only know a handful of rookies anyway. contracts are more important to me.

Tulsa Help

I bought the game sunday on the strength of a friend's recommendation of The Gforce0day roster pack. Last night someone walked me thru the process of unzipping..cuting and pasting in a folder named my.lg
Everything is beautiful, it answered questions about the braves I have always wondered about....fantastic work..HOWEVER..
After loading the league, I have named myself, chosen to be single..no problem...when I attempted to swing, bunt or pitch...or any mouse click....I get an error message..that sez something like..OOTP has closed, something OOTPexe. in this continues restart your computer..
Of course I have restarted...tried the fictional leagues with no problems...but whenever i do a function with the gforce...I crash imediately..
What should I do...unzip again...create another folder? I am dieing to play when I go home tonight???
Hey if anyone wants to they can call with a suggestion 1-800-255-4407...press 1...of course, talking in real time here..its 2.22 central time.. WALLY
