I would love to see the White Sox collapse. Oh, I dislike them so.

As an extremely biased Twins fan, I said at the start of the year that things would come down to this series. I seem to remember picking the twins 90+ wins and winning the division.
A well fought two games and one not so much. Hell of a year, it'll be exciting to watch the next three days to see which team continues the trend. Do the Twins, do the Sox, do they flip flop? Do they both continue the trend? Regardless, it's got to be pretty killer for the Sox to do this the last three games. Any excitement in the clubhouse has to have been sucked out after tonight's game. |

Heck, I saw when Dye & Thome walked in the...what...fifth, and then watched Konerko hit a weak grounder right to second, which would've been an inning-ender if the second baseman hadn't flubbed it. Classic rally-killing Sox baseball. I didn't even have to watch Griffey's at-bat to know that the Sox wouldn't score. No situational hitting skills, and the bullpen has just been a suckfest for months now. Really, except for a few months earlier this year, they've been a suckfest since 2006. And there's nothing in the farm system to help them, and that's what's most depressing. When the best things you can bring up are guys like Ehren Wasserman and Boone Logan, you know things are bleak. Really, there's some young talent there. Quentin, Danks, Floyd, Ramirez...but they're overshadowed by creaking liabilities like Konerko and Griffey. Bleh. Blow this team up, because they're not going to compete any time soon. |

Frankly, my best case scenario is that the Twins take the first two in their final series and Cleveland takes the first two in Chicago. That way Sunday's game means nothing and then the entire Cleveland bench can simultaneously resurrect Ozzie's choke sign.

So, seriously...I'd like some opinions from the fans of the other AL Central teams here...
How are the Sox, in general, viewed (Ozzie aside)? Are they some sort of big-market bully? An overconfident jerk that needs to be taken down a couple pegs? |

At least we were there last year and not golfing instead.

I have no beef at all with the White Sox, aside from the fact that they traded for that money grubbing, lying piece of garbage Jim Thome. However, I have to think they suck, simply because they are the Indian's chief division rival. The only thing that bothers me about the Sox are a certain group of fans at come of the games. It always happens when it's a blowout by the Indians. Most of the crowd is gone by the 8th inning and the ones that are left are the guys that have been drinking since before the first pitch. They're sloppy drunk and yelling the most ignorant things you can yell at a team that's beating the hell out of you team, so it's stupid. I've never actually heard that same kind of behavior at that level at any other ballpark. And I watch the games on TV, so if I can still hear it loud and clear on TV or the radio, then it's even more ignorant and annoying.

It's not stereotyping and I never said it was the majority of Sox fans. No clue where you got that from. I said that there are a certain group of fans that get sloppy drunk during blowouts and yell the stupidest and most tasteless things at the Indians players. As I said, it's only a certain group of "fans" and they are only really audible after most of the crowd has already left. I haven't heard as many people act that way while I watch Tribe games in any other stadium. That's been my experience.
