Damn, 1 lousy OL game today! I say lousy - 4 hits a piece for Cary and Paxville, with Cary taking a 2-1 decision.
Lemp Ave. continue to lead the way for OL in terms of the league, and surely their StL theme will get another boost tomorrow! Paxville are only 5 wins shy of their total from 2 weeks ago. The Plebs (nickname for their fans) are deliriously happy, but they're very easily pleased! And, I have a hunch that Cary may be about to kick start their season with a 4-game sweep of Paxville (1 down, 3 to go) .

Shinbone Still Sets Pace in OL S257
With a fine 6-3 sim, the Stars continue to hold the lead for 2031. Coney Island won four-of-five to keep the Stars within their sights.

Otsego holds Bronze lead on Independence Day
At the midpoint of the 2031 season the Lake Monsters hold the lead in the Bronze 217 standings, with the Keystone Kops in second. Neither have played many OL games as yet, but have multiple series in July which should show if these are true indicators.
In the American Conference, no OL team leads a division. Patriots, at 4 games out, are the closest. They also currently stand in a Wild Card spot, with the Commodores and LabRats close enough to hope a strong second half will raise them up the standings. In the National, Keystone holds solid, if not unsurmountable, division lead, while Otsego is looking at having to climb over several teams to get into the wild card hunt.

Doing a bit of reading about the Negro league teams in Ohio made me decide to stretch my Reds theme a bit and include Negro League players who played in Cincinnati or Dayton. 3 players are currently in PT that fit this category, Jose Mendez and Cristobal Torriente are currently well out of my price range, but the LabRats are happy to announce that the rights to Ray Brown have been acquired and he will take a spot in the starting lineup, moving Aaron Harang to the bullpen.
The LabRats are hoping that, in addition to strengthening the rotation, that Brown can provide some added outfield depth, which currently rests solely in the hands of Greasy Neale.

I just realized that I have Route 66's name wrong. I will correct that in the next standings.

Remember way back when...when your team was starting out and you were trying to advance from Rookie league? For some of you, that was many seasons ago. Yet there are still four OL teams lingering in Rookie, attempting...we think...to catch a ride up and out.
Gear Terrace leads that group this season. The Warriors have finally put together a Stone-worthy roster and hope to make the jump in the postseason. |

For those who may be interested, there is a Monthly Gold 1750 Cap Challenge that will start in just under 6 hours and it still has 7 open slots out of 128.
Get them while you can!

I can barely make the daily tournaments and I think about them all the time. The odds of me making a weekly or monthly one… very low!!!

I agree with you 100% as I never normally touch a tournament with so many teams either however, I figured that joining this tournament 6 hours before it starts isn't chewing up a slot of mine for that long and who knows, maybe lighting will strike my team bus!

Nowhere are on a charge, Lemp Ave. continue to excel, Annandale are solid, Cary are still sputtering, and Paxville are sinking towards relegation. BUT, the OL race is full of possibilities!

OL S257 Race Opens Wider as Shinbone Slips Back
The Stars struggled through a 2-5 month as the race tightened up, with Asheboro, 3-2, and Boulder, 4-2, gaining ground, while Coney Island held fast, 6-6. With the upper summit moving further earthward, hopes were also rekindled in the also-rans, that a miracle run could avail them crown glory.

Rookie
Gear Terrace is in the driver's seat in OL R126. The remaining OL schedule has Hartford and Shoebox each with a 3-game series against the Warriors, before squaring off in 6 games in the final month. Both teams would need to dominate the other two to overtake the Warriors.
Overall, the Warriors are firmly in the playoffs, while the other 3 are looking to get in. |
