Why can't you ever just be like "okay man, I overspoke"? The Jets did not sign Trevor freaking Siemien to "throw the press off the scent". They thought Rodgers was going to be their guy all year and he died 4 plays into the season. Now they were stuck with Wilson and a practice squad guy, having also dumped Kyle Allen in the offseason, and Siemien was the only guy out there worth anything. He's 2023's Charlie Whitehurst. Only complete morons think he's a savior, and not even Jets fans are that dumb.

Why do you think they signed him? Cause he can win? They had extra $ to spend?

I'm doubt signing Trevor Siemian would even make the front page, let alone win it

The Siemian signing could've only been to add generic, pull-a-name-from-a-hat-type-of depth, nothing more. Not that Matt Ryan or Carson Wendt - two guys who expressed interest - would've been the 2nd coming of Manning or Brady, but at least those guys have significant experience starting for good teams. Signing one of them would've been both an admission of lack of faith in Wilson and some attempt to salvage the season.

And the Jets picked up 38 yards on those 22 runs while facing one of the best fronts in the league. The team also trailed all game. If any team is gonna know the Jets are gonna try to run as much as possible to hide Zach Wilson and thus to make sure to stack the box all the time it's the Patriots. |

All I know is for the first time in a long, long time I watched a couple of NFL games — those two Monday night games were dreadful affairs for about three-quarters of each game. All those rule changes over the years to make things easier for offenses and no one could score a touchdown for a long time in either game.

ass needs to be more even. The fact they seem to not have that faith tells me a lot about what they think they built up front. But hey, maybe, again, there is nothing the Jets can do at this point w/their offense. Maybe the problem isn't that they didn't address the o line but that they didn't come up w/the right answers on the front line. I've always felt though, no matter the team, if you can't run or pass, the problem is the offensive line. If you can't stop the run or the pass, the problem is the defensive line. It all starts up front and that is the area, along w/QB that needs to be solid 1st.

Now it's not quite as bad. They're just mad because he wasn't signed following the Cowboys game. I just don't get it from a fan's point of view. The season is over. If I was a Jets fan, I'd hope they would just keep Wilson out there for the duration. Try our luck at another QB in the draft. Which is still what they might do. |

Anyone else notice all the Travis Kelce covid vaccine commercials popping up since he started dating Swift?

He's going to have more ads in circulation than Deion & Kevin Hart combined by the time Halloween gets here.

He's taking some heat over this, but I can't blame him. If you're going to pay me, I'll support any product you want. I'll even make it look convincing. |

My big question is, why is Zach Wilson so bad? Did no one see this coming? If not, why? He looks worse than Tim Tebow. He is clearly not an NFL QB.

Some people saw it coming. Even in college his stats against top competition were iffy. He mostly built his BYU career against cupcakes. ESPN rated him at 77/100, not a first round prospect.

Place yourself as a GM. The draft is where you shine. Getting the next star @ QB makes you the star. Plus, the draft, relatively, is EEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZ when you are solid behind center. You can address needs w/players that fit needs. And if you flunk @ it, no one notices for 5-7 years. Cause you got the QB. It must be the coach's fault. The coordinator's fault. The defense. Whatever. But don't get that QB? Let Aaron Rodgers slip to the end of the 1st round? Let Drew Brees go in the 2nd? The media are going to be in your face about it eternally. So GM's jump on hope. They ignore the flags. But as I said before, college football is not grooming pro QB's. College coaches are doing their job, which is teaching QB's how to win on that level. It is not their responsibility to get QB's ready to play @ the next level. So it has never been more of a crap shoot to scout QB's. The only thing that comes close to a common denominator, IN MY OPINION, is that it seems QB's from Power 5 schools, or play Power 5 type schedules, but not at the talent factories are the places to find them. Other than that, who knows?

Zach Wilson was a case of a raw quarterback with plenty of arm talent that had a lot to figure out in the NFL, the type of quarterback that teams moved away from before the Josh Allen success story (and Mahomes to a lesser extent) made them en vogue again. He had one very good year in college at BYU but was playing behind a top 20 offensive line while going up against bottom 50 defensive lines every week given BYU's competition, so he also had the small school-light competition factor that made it hard to pin down what his upside really was. Obviously the Jets are dumb for falling in love (and playing themselves out of Trevor Lawrence at the 1st pick) but they weren't the only team enamored with his arm.
