Baton Rouge Red Moths
And one that says Baton Rouge and some Baton Rouge hat logos. Couldn't figure out how to get every element on the same tiny logo at once.

Chicago Sox of Many Colors
I ended up here because there was a request for the "Pigeon Forge White Sox". Pigeon Forge being the home of Dollywood, I decided that in this timeline, Dolly Parton bought the White Sox from Jerry Reinsdorf (and ran it as a good faith community institution). This happened sometime in the early 2000s, before they won the World Series, and because franchise valuations rose to their modern heights. This article says that Forbes valued the team at $262m in early 2005, while Dolly's net worth was estimated at $300m in 2003. SO IT'S PLAUSIBLE!

20_range, boy you are something.
Being a traditionalist, I would never use your logos, but this is really special and unique. I really like this one. LIke the Ocean City Orioles, too... I'm in love with the sunbather. Hershey's Kisses is well done, too. Last edited by Eugene Church; 05-06-2023 at 06:16 PM. |

West Texas Searchers
A bit more traditionalist from me maybe, Eugene, thanks for liking the silly ones also
I made this because TX posted a meme from this film. I didn't do much to it, someone else already turned the ending of the movie into this minimal poster. In a previous life I watched a lot of canonical films and highly regarded this one. I gave John Wayne a baseball which is too small to see in the main logo, but you can see it a little in the cap logo Really wanted to give them bats instead of guns in this poster, but that seems beyond my level Last edited by 20_range; 05-16-2023 at 10:57 PM. |

Samana Fletchas
I am old now which means that I am nostalgic for baseball players whose careers I remember from beginning to end. Always loved Fernando Rodney, his hat, his plantains, and his shooting the arrow save celebration. I was very happy when he popped up on the 2019 Nationals and won a World Series ring.
I remember reading that his tilted hat (which he got a lot of criticism for) was a tribute to his father: "Rodney is known for wearing his cap tilted at an angle toward the left side of his head. He said in 2016 that it came about as a tribute to his father, Ulise Rodney, who was a fisherman. Ulise also wore his cap tilted to the side because that was the side the sun hit his face." But I just thought the arrow was cool, until I decided to make a Fernando Rodney themed team. The arrow is in honor of his hometown, Samana, DR. Samaná's arrows actually celebrate native resistance to Christopher Columbus: "The town of Santa Barbara of Samaná sits on the Samaná Peninsula which came first into written history on 13 January 1493, when Christopher Columbus made here the last stop of his first voyage to the New World. He landed on what today is known as the Rincón Beach, where he met the Ciguayos who presented him with the only violent resistance he faced during this visit to the Americas. The Cigüayos had refused to trade their bows and arrows that Columbus's pathfinders wanted. In the ensuing clash, two Amerindians were wounded. Because of the Ciguayos' use of arrows, the Admiral called the inlet the Bay of Arrows (or Gulf of Arrows)." So every time Fernando Rodney shot that arrow, he was aiming it at Columbus himself! Now I like him even more ![]() So here are the Samaná Arrows. Had to put an arrow in there (taken from the town's seal. Not sure which color of text is better *** update, I forgot to say that he is still pitching in 2023, at age 46, for Yucatan in the Mexican League! And I also forgot to make a cap logo of his skewed cap. Will attempt to do that if there's also plantain logos to come that will have to be its own team

Brilliant work on Samana Fletchas... yep, you done might darn good, 20_range.
Is 20_range name baseball related?... is it based on the scouting system 20 to 80? I changed my attitude toward Fernando Rodney due to your post... EC never likes anything awry, askew or asymmetrical... I will now give honor to Fernando's tribute to his father... that's a touching story... thanks for sharing it. Well, Dan, I appreciated your honest assessment of your recent postings...
However, rest assured, you are rated 80 here on the logo making!

Santa Clara Duques
thanks
the inkscape trace bitmap feature does all the work thoughI decided to try to make a few more player-nostalgia logos, to go with the Samana Fletchas. I've expanded my league to Santo Domingo, Havana, Mexico City and San Juan, so these will be some of their minor league teams. This one is Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, in his distinctive windup, on a Spanish ducal coat of arms. (there is some really weird heraldry in there.) I made two because I kept wanting him to be bigger. I tried to use a mix of Yankees and White Sox colors, the two teams he won the WS with (they kind of have the same colors) I put the team in the largest city in his province of birth (that's all the information English wikipedia has), but because there is no text on the Ducal coats of arms, I didn't put any on this logo, so you could put the team anywhere. If you like/remember El Duque like I do

Bayamon Fusilados
This idea isn't going to get any saner or more well-executed, or easier to see in the game (it's very small but the gist of it is make-out-able), so I'm just going to post it.
This is the catching Molina brothers in the style of Triple Elvis by Andy Warhol. You can see very small in the corner that Warhol has signed the screenprint, so you know it's authentic. Fusilado, "gun down", as far as I can tell, is a Spanish idiom for a catcher throwing a runner out. Please correct my Spanish, I do not speak Spanish. Elvis is portrayed as a gunslinger in this piece, why not Yadi as a gunslinger? (Aside) It is very hard to see, because I needed to fit three figures in there, for the three brothers, but whatever. The text is supposed to look like a museum plaque. |

Athens Olympians
Continuing with the player nostalgia project - the Prince Fielder tribute team! Prince Fielder was pretty great, a lot of fun, really good, surprisingly fast, unfortunately had to retire too soon, and looks amazing naked. I really enjoyed this image when it came out, and now that I can make things out of things, here it is as a logo
![]() I decided to call the team the Olympians, because the original Olympic athletes competed naked. If you're brave enough to use these logos, you can locate the team in Athens GA or Athens OH, or to replace one of the Detroit or Milwaukee rookie league teams, or wherever you like. There is a Brewers-colors version and a Tigers-colors version. The small logo has Brewers, Tigers, and Rangers colored rings. And combining the two elements creates a new different feeling logo, almost a Kehinde Wiley effect, actually. Last edited by 20_range; 05-25-2023 at 10:22 PM. |

Charlotte Knights rebrand
Uses their new color scheme, is based on a medieval chess piece. I love the way those things look and I just remembered them, I'll probably make a king and a queen too

Santiago de los Caballeros Caballeros
The Charlotte Knights chess piece comes out of my attempts to make a tm1681 old-style logo for the triple-A team of the Santo Domingo Astronomos, the Santiago de los Caballeros Caballeros. I'm using the shells from the city flag plus the St Louis Browns, and it's all getting pretty out of hand...
