At this point, my Clippers are only 3.5 games out of 1st even though we're only 63-68. Our Pythag is -7 with +43 RDiff (3rd best in NC) so we might have been in 1st with a little more luck. But there's still time left to make a comeback since we're in the weakest division in the league.

Craig Swan (13-10, 4.30 ERA) actually leads my team in wins. Craig, you beast! No-no, *you* give *me* animal names!

Still in competition in the division and on the top wild card, six games to the good in the latter… although the first team outside the wild card ranks are those dang Laser Kiwis that already stroked the Raccoons against the grain in the first series and are coming right up again.

Corsairs are in 3rd at 72-64 6.5 back but 2 games out of the second wildcard spot with two teams ahead of us. The good news is that I pulled Bill Terry and he replaced my 1b platoon of Belt & JA Martinez added Clyde Milan as a backup outfielder/pinch runner.
Reavers are schizo, trading in a 35-22 May/June for a 21-32 July/August... since they went 11-15 in April I expect they'll do pretty good in September LOL. They're 67-69 15.5 back in the division.
Subway Rats got hit by the R (reality) train in P403, 55-80 40 games out, barely out of relegation back to Diamond. They got too full of themselves after winning the championship in Diamond last season LOL.

The Laser Kiwis seem to have your number there, I'll take the small victories.

We're 69-66 and just two games out of the wildcard spot. The pennant chase screen has us at a 28.6% chance to make the playoffs. We can do it!!!

The Hoggs went 14-14 in August, and are 78-59 on the 2nd September. We're clinging on for dear life to the lead in the AC West Division. It's at 3 1/2 games at the moment, with the Daytona Dragons (73-61), who have played 3 less games than us so far, our closest rivals.

We hosted the Dragons at the end of the month in a 3-game set. I happened to be near the computer for that and made a couple pitching staff decisions (slight shuffle-around of the bullpen, and shifting a start to a pitcher I thought better suited to their lineup) which seemed to work, as we swept them to open up a little bit of distance. Then we proceeded to lose our next 2 games, so there you go.

Dierker took home Pitcher of the Month. McReynolds continues to share the conference homerun lead, with 30. Yogi Berra continues to make up for his last 3 poor seasons. He put together a 21-game hitting streak during the month, and is slashing .353/.392/.593, with 20 dingers and 5.0 WAR.

Our run differential is +73 (we're second-best in terms of runs conceded, while our OBP is a paltry .311 (13th).

Looks like more than half the starting pitchers in this league are lefthanded, with my Ichiro, who is only in the lineup against RHP, projected to start just 80 games.

PP earnings today: 735. I've seen a couple people around the boards saying they're in gold+ leagues with poor teams and earning 9-10K PP per week. I don't see how, unless they've somehow managed to crack the gold achievement code.

Couldnt agree more! My Gold Team are currently 81-53 and are leading their conference, they have generated 1.5K all season.

My Silver Team on the other hand have generated 10K PP this season but that was helped by a Perfect Game 5K and we had 5 Silver Achievements and 8 All Stars.

This is by far the most I have ever received.

Anyone in here that's got a team in diamond or will have a team in diamond, can add me as a friend, if interested. My user name is jenazu. So Izz, Will_L, NYY#23, Westheim, Maddox and anyone else that likes posting in or reading the season threads, feel free to add me if you like. Of course, if you do, you'll need to provide your user name too. But if you all prefer the random way, that's fine with me too.

Edit: Just a reminder to everyone, you need to go to the Profile & Settings tab and then change League Placement Setting to "Use Friends List" and make sure to Submit Team before leaving this tab or it won't save your changes. Also, you may have to exit the game right after clicking Submit Team for the changes to stick.

1.5k in gold through August?! Wow, that's tough. Of course, you'll at least get a 1k boost at the end of the season for making the playoffs.

I'm having my poorest PP season ever and have only made about 2.5k so far, but there's a chance of making more at the end of the season. I've got two guys with chances for leading the league in something, plus I usually have a glove winner or two. Now if only I can somehow win my division.

Looks like I should happily coast to the division win despite a crappy .500 performance in August.

I keep finding myself fretting over upgrades despite the fact that my team has performed well. Can't help but think of where I could be if I had an upgrade in the infield, or a better catcher, or if I had Corbin instead of Freeland. Hopefully September and the playoffs are kind PP wise so I can afford to keep improving.

Thanks! I added your Will_L one, but I didn't think it was a good idea to add the others since doing so might cause you to end up with more than one team in the same league. Unless you know it won't do that? It would be nice if it didn't place a person's teams in the same league with each other, but I do know that this happened in the past. Has this changed?

Dhah!!

1-5 against the Laser Kiwis …! That didn't improve the Coons' standing one bit...

So, while a couple of you were busy trying to call me out as a Van Mungo schill, I ended up getting the next one that came onto the market with a fairly low BIN. I sincerely believe this is a six-figure card. Virtually identical ratings to Perfect Doc Gooden.

These are the results so far in Perfect League, with the only major blemish being a 6-run inning in his second game. He faced Perfect Jackie, Ruth, Trout, and Mookie that inning and had to deal with an error. He has a 1.22 ERA in all other innings.

I did a small test and was able to friend my other two id's so I suppose that possibility exists, was able to unfriend them back to normal.

Just curious, but would you prefer to join the diamond league in Orcin's thread? Of course, we might end up even more overmatched in that league which could lead to relegation.

If you would prefer this, I'll join too. Otherwise, I'm fine with being in a normal diamond league (and I actually favor this).

Also got my first gold achievement in possibly ever (can't remember ever getting one before but the mind might be fading) so it was a nice surprise to wake up to so much PP waiting for me.

I was looking at that one too, but I decided to pass. I have it as top 20 and I think you are right about the card being worth low 6 figures. It is very comparable to the perfect Gooden as you say, which is worth about 125-150K IMO.
