Not a problem. This site is outstanding. Has lengths, salary by season, everything. Should do the trick for you and for Hell Atlantic.

Is this the site you're thinking of? It's great but the contracts haven't been updated since the end of last year. What I really need is a list of new contracts since last season ended. Grismosw's old list will fill in the blanks. That being said, people need to remember that this game was not designed to work with real salaries. For me, the contract lengths are more important. As I've said, I will gladly implement whatever info I get with whatever time I have. But right now, adjusting the major league player ratings is more important. GH |

That is exactly the one I was thinking of. For the new contracts I think this will work...

hmmmm...ok. That may work if I combine the two lists. No sure it will make v1, but it will be in v2.

Cool. Time permitting I may try to get a much easier list together for you maybe in excel or something similiar.

i didn't want to come off too harsh. the fictional default rosters really are based on actual MLB players - there's a 38 year old mega-man on the Giants with 16 power, a 39 year old ace on the D-Backs with a 36 year old #2 pitcher, the Phillies have a homerun hitting 1B, etc. the names are different obviously, but in 90% of the cases it's very easy to see who's supposed to be who in the game. i simply took out my fantasy baseball mag with the depth charts outlined for every team, and have proceded to edit the rosters. i didn't realize it was that "simple". i've only done up to Baltimore (going alphabetically). maybe it's just me, but it seems the default rosters have more realistic contracts - i don't require up to the cent salary accuracy but i want something resembling what MLB players have. just a matter of editing names.
i'm not really bothering with the minors either. i'm a Met fan, and i only know of 3 or 4 of their AAA minor leaguers - and that's the extent of my minor league knowledge. whereas many of you probably require an extensive roster with every guy currently in pro baseball - i can live with just accurate major league level rosters...i'm not worried about who's in or not in San Diego's AA farm team. |

Check out the link GForce posted above. It has an almost complete listing of actual player contracts.

hmmm...
Just a suggestion for salaries. Lengths are more important then actual $$ amounts I agree. And since each salary is usually staggered and includes bonuses those numbers can't really be implemented into the game. But what if you did a "average" salary for each player based on their real contracts minus bonuses? For example ARod signed a 10 yr 252mill contract the deal can be voided after 2007 which in a sense makes it a 7 year contract. Now if you take away his 10 mill up front bonus plus his deferred money in each of those years his average salary would be 18.8 mill a year. which is probably about 1/5 of the rangers payroll. I plan on doing this anyways once the next updated roster set comes out but I'd be more then happy to help figure out the averages for the players. And with the exception of a few minor leaguers who are making major league money all that would really need to be worked on is the active rosters.

First off GForce....I hope everything is going well with your wife and son! Secondly, I appreciate all the hard work you have put into this roster set and can't wait for v1. I know you said early this week, any update or guess on the exact day?
As to Flood25's suggestion about the salary issue, I think he has the right idea and if he is willing to do some of the work on the averages and lengths and then get those to you for v2 or later, that would be great. I would be willing to help him with that. I would just need to know where he gets all the contract info from. To Hell Atlantic....next time read the entire thread before going on a rant about how bad the roster set is. Then you would have known that the set was based on 2002 stats only, and that the beta version only changed the names, not any of the ratings or fictional contracts. Those changes will be fixed by opening day(April 1) hopefully! Keep up the good work GForce!!!

hey guys,
ok, I fixed the formulas so the walk stuff is ok now. I hope to have v1 out by Sunday. It may be as early as Wednesday or Thursday depending on time. v2 will then have speed and fielding adjustments added as well as hopefully contract info (at least lengths, $ figures, if included, will be modified downward to work better with the OOTP engine). I had outlined like 5 versions, but once v2 comes out I will probably not release another until opening day. I just wanted to keep releasing stuff so people know I'm progressing (after last year, I figured it would make sense to keep giving updates). The support is appreciated. Referring to DC's point, I have NO problem with guys asking questions and don't even mind questions outside of this thread...but it is kind of irritating when people ask questions in the thread that everything is covered in. It's why I started the thread in the first place. No big deal, I'm not getting into fights about this stuff this year, just not that important. I will deliver a great roster set to you guys, of that I am very confident. And I think it will be done by, or very close to, opening day. GH |

Well, if it's any consolation to you, GForce, I have the game sitting here, paid for, registered and such but uninstalled. I'll play when your next version of rosters come out. You add so much to the game for me that I really don't care to play it unless I can play with some valid and authentic computer players. So ... you know ... I can't express much more respect than that. LR .. |

Agree completely Larry!
I waited all year with OOTP4 for the GForce/Rolen rosters and was very pleased. They kept me going through the winter until the release of v5. I look forward to these updates through opening day. Keep up the GREAT work GForce. As to my comments to Hell Atlantic...I had just read through the entire 10+ pages of the thread and was irritated when I read his post. It was obvious that he had not read any of the post. Sorry if I offended anyone else with my remarks. Can't wait to see v1 released!

without the accurate contracts, i didn't want to play having Jason Giambi become a free agent after 2003. i stand by my statements. it was more unplaybale for me due to the contracts being off than ratings or what have you.

Probably a GOOD idea to stop by and see your son!!!!
Hmmm, and I thought that I was addicted....... Do you mind if I print your post to share with my wife the next time she accuses me of spending too much time with my computer? Great job, but now quit reading this and see your son again, ok?
