Actually, there is one I would love to see ... what if the White Sox never threw the World Series ... I would love to see the years of Shoeless playing out his career ...

Uhm...yeah. If I saw them walking towards me in an alley, I'd go in the other direction.
A dynasty with the ChiSox staying honest would be great. I actually don't remember seeing one of those - certainly not for a long time. |

That World Series won’t happen until next season in this world. They might not throw the series in this world (or even make it for that matter) LOL. But I think it would be counter intuitive to run two dynasties in the same era at the same time. I was hoping to move a little further into the future As far as this dynasty goes I figure I can average 4 games a day (rough guess). Possibly more, but probably not less. So if Ruth plays 20 years this will take me around 2 real years to complete. I was thinking about somewhere around the Baseball moves “West” time frame( 1958). Possibly having Baseball Expand early…Or maybe one involving Ted Williams and the fact he basically missed 5 years during his career due to military service. He did not play at all during the 1943,44,45 seasons and in 1952 only appeared in 6 games then in1953 he hit 17 HR in only 37 games. Considering the 43-45 seasons were in his prime and he was still an All-Star caliber player in his 30’s he very well may have give Ruth’srecord of 714 a run had he had a full career! But I’m still in the decipheringprocess on what I feel will be interesting and Fun for me as well as thereader.

1918 Regular Season Game 36
Boston Errorless, Grimes gets first win! ![]() Burleigh grimes didn’t pitch any different than he did in his first eight starts that resulted in an 0-6 record but the defense behind him was flawless for a change, outfielders making wall crashing catches, infielders making diving stops and Catchers cutting down runners instead of throwing to the Center Fielder was the difference in this one. Timely hitting perfectly placed bunts and sound baserunning decisions also helped in this 5-2 victory that dropped Ed Cicotte’srecord to 5-5. Iron Man Stuffy McInnis continues his impeccable play with both the bat and glove Hitting .307, Stuffy and Harry Hooper are the only ones to play in all 36 games this year ![]() ![]() Up next another showdown with the "Other Sox" as Dutch Leonard squares off with Chicago's ERA Leader Red Faber! n

Dutch Blanks Chicago! ![]() Lee Magee scored the 1st run and thats all Dutch needed The defense was errorless for 2 consecutive games for thefirst time and only for the 8th time all year in Dutch Leonard’s 4-0 six-hitter. New comer Bill Hinchman got the start in RF but Harry Hooper didn’t get a day off and preformed spectacularly in CF with 7 put outs and making a few wondrous plays to boot! Stuffy McInnis’2 RBI Single in the first is all Leonard needed. Ruth was 2-3 and has his average up to .297 and has played spotless in LF since his return. 1918 Regular Season Game 39
Kinney to the Rescue! ![]() When Babe Ruth hit a 2 out 2 run Homer in the Bottom of the inning after pitching a scoreless first hopes were high at Fenway. The tides turned quickly as he walks the leadoff batter in the secong and after two throws to first and a ball, Nemo Leibold Tied the game with a towering shot to dead center. Ruth obviously shaken by the events got out of a 3rd inning Jam stranding the bases loaded, again in the 5th he manages to get out of a pickle after allowing a 2 out double , an error on 2B zeb Terry, and a walk. In the 6th he walks 3 and leaves two on base after C Ernie Krueger guns down Ray Schalk trying to steal 3rd.In the 7th he allowed a walk, 2 singles and Hit a batter, yet allowed only one run. In the 8th inning after only one Pitch (his141st) and a fly out to CF, Ruth was pulled from the game quietly, the fans booed unknowing that Ruth had an ailing back. Enter Walt Kinney the less celebrated two-way player on the Sox Roster. Kinney retired 2 batters with awalk sandwiched in between and the Sox were Down 4-2 late in the game again! Boston took a 6-4 lead into the 9th and after a 2 out walk little used Reliever JeanDubuc comes in to face a RHB and records the save. SOX WIN! The Box Score ![]() Todays Games ![]() Up Next a 4 game series with Washington including a double bill. note: Ruth was day-to-day and is ok

Injury Info
Six days 'til Tillie’s Return! ![]() In less than a week the Sox roster will be fully intact for the very first time this season. Slugging Tillie Walker is scheduled to return in 6 days and should be in the lineup for the 3rdgame of a series in Detroit where he will resume his CF duties and allow Lee Magee to return to his natural position of 2B. This will create a dilemma any Manager would welcome, If Tillie bats behind Ruth as expected where will Sox leading hitter Stuffy McInnis bat ? Odd sare that the .316 hitting 1stBaseman will be moved up in the lineup to 2nd from the 5th spot he’s occupied every game this season due to Injuries to Ruth and Walker

Babe Ruth was 2-4 and raised his average to .340. Stuffy McInnis had both Boston RBI’s on 2 out, 2 run single in the 6th. 1918 Regular Season Game 43
Good Riddance Month of May! Boston just completed a horrendous 9-19 month, if anything could go wrong it did in the month, everything from injuries to errors to insipid hitting stretches. Pitching was formidable for the most part but if it wasn’t the pitchers choking it was the defenders and Hitters, all in all a Month to forget in the Red Sox Baseball annals of History! We will now move onto June and never ever speak of this putridMonth ever again! Todays ass whoopin ![]() n

1918 Regular Season Game 44
June,Sweet,June! ![]() Balls were flying around Navin Field all day! June couldn’t come too soon as Boston scored nearly as many runs (14) as they had in the last 6 games combined (15) Ruth gets his 3rdwin but left in the 6th inning with 1 out exhausted. And Ferdie Schupp pitched the final 3.2 innings for his second save. Boston recorded 21 hits and every starter had one, and 6 had 2 or more. The Red Sox had their customary amount of errors this game! The Box Score ![]() Today's Games ![]() Up Next the eagerly awaited and much antisipated Heptagonal report: Side Two!

Heptangular Report
Boston Red Sox Month we shall never mention again stats So here we sit atgame 44, 2/7th through the 1918 season. The month that we shallnever speak of again is finally over and June brings new promise and prospects. The Ruth return while an emotional high has yet to produce the desired resultsand I’m coming to the realization that he either needs days off undoubtedly the day before he pitches and possibility the day after to keep hisproduction at the highest possible level or he needs to come out of the BullPen and be a spot starter, It will bemuch easier to accommodate either scenario with the return of OF Tillie Walker’sbat. The month that shall never be spoken again saw some ghastly offensivenumbers for some players. Hitting ![]() Pitching ![]() The Heptangular Report: Side 2 continues next post....
