Yes, you can turn the animated balls off.

I would bet at some point someone will have a stadiums mod where the ball flights are all nicely done.

There is nothing I put past the modding community here.

That's actually a very good question for those of us planning to migrate our OOTP 8 leagues to OOTP 9. Anyone know the answer to this?

Asked about this twice now. Once in one of Markus' announcement threads and
then again in it's own thread here. No reply either from Markus or beta testers.

Bumped it just now hoping for an answer.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Yes, the head scout pre-conversion becomes the scouting director post-conversion.

Sweed also asked in his thread about what happens to the other scouts?

I hope you are referring to Nutlaw, inappropriate as that may still be. I'm just asking a question here, not trying to get him to betray his Don. I am fully aware of the NDA, so let Nutlaw not respond if that is the problem.

No, that was my answer to your question. I was trying to be funny. I failed.

OK, thanks for clearing that up. I take your meaning now. Don't mind me, this has been one of my poorer days on the boards; lots of hot air followed by backtracking and post-editing. Not in the proper mood today, I guess.

Meh, no need to apologize. My post was pretty vague.

Just to be clear . . .

In converted leagues, your head scout becomes scouting director. But, since there are no longer any individual scouts, so those all kind of go "poof."

Or, if you prefer a less jarring way of looking at it, you're a high level manager and no longer care what the names of your individual scouts in Akron, OH are.

Got to remember to promote my #2 scout to Head Scout before converting.
Current head scout is 10/10/10/10/10 but he's 64. #2 is 10/10/10/9/7 but is only 53. Don't want to have to hire a new head scout, especially if all the other non-head scouts in the league go *poof*.

OR do they actually go into the "available scouts" pool? In that case, there would be a plethora of good scouts to hire as head scout.
