Not if I can help it. My strategy is to keep this thread going long enough to distract Markus from the release date.

Edit: And you added the 2F location too, which is not part of retrosheet. That's indeed scary! But you haven't broken up the center field locations, these are used in the retrosheet PbP data but are not to be found on their hit location diagram. Anyway, funny stuff!!

Edit2: Where's that ballpark designer in PS 2007? I fired up my copy (yes I own it of course ) but could not find it

I find it interesting and encouraging that Markus and Shaun Sullivan support each others baseball games. This is how it should be. There are probably few people in this world who really understand the work and stress that goes into creating something like OOTP. Shaun Sullivan would be one of those people. Baseball and its fans are certainly big enough to support both titles.

You can find a similar thread with a short dialogue between Markus and Shaun at:

Now Clay Dreslough needs to drop in to round things out. Then again, he's probably too busy trying to figure out how to put position player fatigue into his games. It's only taken him 11 years so far.

I see the 2F in retrosheet. No way your minds are THAT intertwined...

Come on, you take a good natured thread and turn it mean. Be nice.

Funny you should say that. From time to time over the years I've thought that if one took the best of PureSim and combined it with the best of OOTP, the result would likely be the baseball sim so awesome it would threaten to take over the world.

Markus & OOTP + Shaun & PureSim/DDSB = baseball sim heaven and global domination.

Food for thought, gentlemen.

Markus & Shaun = Obama & Hillary

DREAM TICKET!!!11

I'll leave it up to you two to decide who has to be Hillary.

Also, preordered. You got me with 19th century support. Very excited for the new version.

In OOTP 9, scouting has changed so that you no longer have a team of many scouts, but rather a single scouting director.
Is the head scout from the previous game become the scouting director?

Markus, or whoever controls this board, please let us have rep. If only for this post.

BTW, are the animations optional? I don't need them and it's too much work for all the stadium pictures I use.

Just adding a post to raise my number to 667. Don't like being stuck on the lower one.
