Soriano's career BA is .280. Doesn't seem significant to these eyes.

It's a significant amount of his OBP (depending of course on how much of that spike sticks - some of which probably will). So as the batting average drops, the OBP will follow suit into ugly territory.

As for the power, of course I said that he would age better than most speedy guys because he doesn't rely on triples to supplement his power.

Ive also seen that Soriano is just terrible against the leagues best pitchers while cleaning up on the 5th starter types. He isnt a guy to count on in the playoffs.

Unless it the Cards, whose rotation is made up of 5th starter types not named Carpenter.
