This was a messy game which involved a mis-substitution by the Manager which forced Sam Crawford out of the game, the wrong pinch hitter, and some seat-of-the-pants playing. Frank Schulte hit his 5th home run of the year but Brooklyn still lost, 6-5 to the Doves.
