Like fancy skunk said. I went through most and updated the ids that were wrong. Basically the ids must have been created based on the displayed name, which in the case of a lot of bills and mikes and Tony’s for example. weren’t correct

The file for the one in my pack for the linked player is dated June 26, 2015, so it's absolutely ancient. Assuming this is the same player, I just threw together a new facegen for him for the update:

It's from my Sox league. Kind of Random Debut but all players are imported in alphabetical order the year they debuted with the White Sox. i bring in 60 players per year.

Huge amount of duplicate files removed

------------Installation Instructions-----------

Windows:

Download and extract the zip file from one of the links above
Delete or rename the existing fg_files folder in your OOTP install folder
Copy the downloaded fg_files folder into your OOTP install folder

Mac (Thanks to beepollen):

Make sure OOTP isn't running.
Go to the folder /Users/(username)/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 22.
Delete the folder fg_files.
Add the downloaded folder, also named fg_files.

Notes:

Newly created leagues will have the facegens load automatically.
Older leagues will need to have player pictures updated in order for them to display: League Settings -> Players & Facegen -> Check all picture files of all teams and leagues
Perfect Team facegens will update whenever you download a new simulation

Mine doesn't say Zip so not sure how to unzip. It says Complete Universe Facegen Pack v1.1.7z Any thoughts?

Winrar can still unzip it, not sure about winzip.

Apologies for this, I'm not a Mac person so I don't have a lot of experience to troubleshoot here. It looks like you might need Unarchiver to work with .7z files.

Also doublecheck that you're getting v2.1 rather than v1.1 - I thought I removed the links to the old versions but might have missed one.

Didn't realize there was a thread devoted to this mod. I started a regular thread for my question. How do I force the game to replace my historical player photos with these facegens? I've tried forcing updates but nothing is changing. I can select them manually, but I don't want to do that for hundreds of players.

check the '3d&facegen' tab in the settings... bottom entry. If it's set to look for photos first, switch that to facegen.

So I changed that. Do I have to reload the game or anything? Because I went into the League Settings under the Players & Facegen tab and tried a couple of different things and nothing changed.

I tried:

Update/ Generate All Player Pictures under Player Facegen Functions
Force Update/ Generate All Player Pictures under Player Facegen Functions

However, if I go to an individual player and select Auto-Reload picture the photo is replaced by a the facegen. I don't want to do that for every player, though.

Would these be the place to report missing players? I was looking for OOTP player ID #2341, John Atz. He played with the White Sox between 1902 and 1909. Baseball Reference has him listed as Jacob Henry 'Jake' Atz, but there are no players named Atz in this facegen pack.

Reporting missing or low quality facegens here is fine. Those numeric IDs change from game to game though (e.g. Atz is ID #470 in the historical game I use for testing stuff).

Took care of Atz, and will also make a note to the database guys that his name is wrong in game. I included the file for his facegen here, if you would like to have it now rather than having to wait on a pack update.

Might as well also take this time to make a general note. The file renames and quality touchups for 1927 are done; moved on to 1938. These older seasons are kind of a disaster.

Found another one as I'm trying to update my current game. There's no facegen for Dick 'Doc' Hoblitzell. He played with the Reds and Red Sox from 1908-1918. OOTP has him with a minors ID of hoblit001ric and, but there are no Hoblitzells in the file pack.

Also missing: Lorenzo Clare Patterson, shown as Clare Patterson in OOTP, with a minors ID of patter001lor. He played for the Reds in 1909.

This might be missing, as well: Edward Francis 'Jeff' Sweeney (minors ID sweene002edw).

Looks like Hoblitzell and Sweeney were completely absent. Patterson was there but with the wrong file name.

I hate to be a pest, but it looks like I found another missing player. I'm almost finished reviewing my 16 teams, so hopefully will run out of issues (until next season).

I won't post any more until I'm finished reviewing. Then I will give them all at once if there additional players missing.

Don't worry about pestering or anything like that. Getting these missing players found so I can make facegens made for them is a huge help. That said, depending on how many more you list out, I might have to wait on getting them made and pushed out for you as I'm scheduled to have my first COVID vaccine dose later today and that might wipe me out for a little.

Good luck with the vaccine. I'm taking my wife for her 1st dose today. I have my 2nd dose on Saturday. I was pretty beat the rest of the day from the 1st one, so don't be surprised if you lose all ambition for tonight.
