You might be best to just keep using my rosters till the bugs are worked out in cubbys. But on the other hand if you want to help with finding bugs and getting them fixed so you have a perfect roster set then I would say download his so that all the bugs can be found right away.

Wow. I just tried this and it works! This is big news, how come it is so quiet? Cubby, any way we can incorporate this into the next release? Pretty simple to do, but it would be nice to start with it...

Error

I have downloaded roster sets Everytime I try to start a saved game the game says cannot start because of corrupt file or roster set from earlier game. I have removed the game and roster from my computer and tried to re-download several times to no avail.

I think (I could be wrong) that's not a roster set issue, but an issue if you're using a different patch or update than me. Are you guys using the latest version?

I know I am using the latest version of the game. It's no big deal. I'm sure it's just a configuration thing in terms of the way the files are different once I copy the template of your league into a new one. Your league works fine for me. Sorry I didn't clarify that. Your league works fine as downloaded. It's when I try to adapt it to my own league is when I get the problems. So, no worries.

Same here. I tried to add a custom feeder lg last night, and it bombed. I cant remember the last time OOTP 2007 crashed. I deleted the lg, unzipped from scratch, and added a generic college feeder lg, and it bombed again.

I'm guessing all the crashes have something to do with the left over data, redsoxford got a copy of the newest file and he's seeing if he can clean some of it up now.

I've had the same problem too. I attempted to re-install the photo pack again. Nothing. Not a huge deal, but just curious if anyone else has a fix for this.

BTW---GREAT JOB Cubby! I have been patiently waiting behind the scenes, getting into fictional leagues. It was worth the wait...pretty impressive beta.

Does anyone know how the budget information is calculated in this set? Is the budget fixed according to past years in the team history? or was it manually entered by Cubby?

Hey Cubby,

I've never done my own roster set so I don't really know the answer to this questions, but I'm sure you do. To make the rosters why did you not just start a league with a database file and then edit the players? Then you have had histories, etc already in the game and would just have to edit players, ballparks, etc?

You have done amazing work. I was just curious as to that decision if I ever want to make my own rosters.

NOT A CRITICISM !

I haven't plugged these figures into the current CubbyFan23 rosters (well, not the copy I've sent back to him), but I've got a list of the Totals for all the Minor Leagues for 2006 that can be fed into the totals page on the Strategy screen.

Copy the below into excel and do text to columns with comma delimitation to get the columns aligned properly

League,AB,H,2b,3b,HR,BB,SO,BABIP,HBP
International League,66314,17124,3517,377,1470,6137,13444,0.3046 ,441
Pacific Coast League,77804,21048,4105,521,2047,7788,15812,0.3170 ,614
Eastern League,55697,14015,2753,338,1246,5292,12063,0.3012 ,374
Southern League,45941,11450,2266,257,886,4597,10312,0.3041, 266
Texas League,37757,10144,2113,235,1011,3905,7662,0.3140, 303
California League,48311,13303,2630,348,1117,4934,10497,0.3321 ,335
Carolina League,36542,9385,2007,224,729,3887,7434,0.3050,21 9
Florida State League,54430,13861,2629,342,1079,5196,11815,0.3077 ,324
Midwest League,64680,16348,3142,467,1058,6165,14121,0.3089 ,317

New York-Penn League,34351,8330,1551,260,374,3059,7644,0.3021,11 2
Northwest League,20618,5156,1038,140,355,1996,4551,0.3056,10 7
Appalachian,22368,5699,1112,144,380,2316,5049,0.31 40,114
Arizona,16996,4498,809,250,176,2026,3884,0.3341,53
Gulf Coast,22307,5493,977,164,270,2226,4942,0.3055,81
Pioneer,20733,5479,1041,175,413,2306,4671,0.3237,1 24

HBP is not accurate, I've used 0.3 of HR as that's approximately the value for the default ML settings.

Not taken as one, certainly.

I actually started this way with my rosters initially, but hb came along and offered up a set that he had started on that had every player in the minor leagues in it. Needless to say, putting in history and touching that up is MUCH less time consuming than creating every player in every minor league organization in baseball, so I went that route instead.

Does anyone have any opinions as to what the AI should weight when evaluating players? Right now it's set up as 50% current year stats, 15% last year, 5% two years ago, 30% ratings, but I'm thinking I should switch current year stats and ratings so that its 30-15-5 for stats, and 50% ratings and player evaluation.

I've noticed in a few test sims that teams are releasing guys in April-May who have slow starts like Sheffield, Renteria, etc.
