Yeah! That could easily become one of the best bargain of this offseason!

It'd be a very smart move for the Mets.

Accxording to the Times, the Mets have now turned their sights towards a trade for LoDuca. Just what y'all need, another guy who always fades in the second half.

Not to mention that he's 33, 4 years older than Hernandez, inferior to Hernandez now, and has two years left on his contract that will pay him $6.25M each year.

Didn't anyone tell you? He wasn't just Paul LoDuca. He was Paul Loduca, heart and soul of the Dodgers clubhouse.

Rumors since coming to work:

-- Tigers offered Pudge Rodriguez for Benson

-- Mets are leaking the LoDuca rumor to try and get Hernandez or Molina to drop their asking price for fear the Mets will look elsewhere. They have no true interest in LoDuca.

Ew... I'd rather keep a league average pitcher for $7MM/yr than take on a catcher who'se hit the wall at $10MM/yr.

But if you're the Tigers, and you know Minaya loves to sign a) Latin players, and b) big names, you dangle this and hope he bites.

I sure hope not.

I think I'm gonna throw up.

ESPN has reported it as a done deal, via trade.

Haha... yea I was more approaching the proposal from a Mets' standpoint since I'm in your thread.

Let's wait to see who the PTBNL is... maybe it's Matsui and this deal will be even.

Well, here's hoping Minaya is able to fill the other holes better. Once can only assume that the free agent catchers either didn't want to come to the Mets or didn't want contracts that the Mets were willing to work with.

Molina and Hernandez really screwed themselves if that's the case. I think Omar was ready to set the market for FA catchers and now they'll have to find someone else ready to do that. I'm not sure the money will be flowing as freely.

**** **** ****!!!

From CNNsi:

Some have speculated that Sosa could join the New York Mets, whose general manager, Omar Minaya, signed Sosa to his first professional contract in the 1980s when Minaya was a scout for the Texas Rangers.

"Sammy only needs an opportunity to play and show that he's recovered" from nagging injuries that hurt his play this year, Minaya was quoted as saying in the Sunday edition of El Nacional, another Dominican daily.

No, you stupid bastard. He only needs to be allowed to shove a needle in his ass again.

**** **** ****!!!
