Yeah, last week was the kind of nip and tuck I'm hoping for more of. I think the Reds won it by 4 in the end. Paxville took game 162 against Paper St, which avoided us playing 163. With hindsight, I think we did you a favour!

I thought the Reds had blown their chances of keeping up with the two of you after their horrible run in June, and playing .500 ball in July. They ended the season really strong though, and I guess were too exhausted to worry about their playoff games.

We have 4 OL teams in Rookie 57, all in the American Conference. I didn't see anyone pulling the numbers, so I thought I would help out.

Coney Island Leads Crowded Race in OL B235

The Warriors were among the busier teams and turned it to their advantage in a chase that sees 7 of the 11 teams at .500 or better.

Inland Empire Wrangles the Lead in OL I205

The Wranglers took a 2-game set from Keystone, winning 3-2 in each game, to take the lead in Iron. Keystone will have a chance to return the favor when Inland Empire visits the Rock in August.

Hot Rods Lead OL St160

Everyone living up to the names in OL St160, with the Hot Rods being hot rods and the Bums being...in the cellar.

On current pace, the bottom three teams will get to renew their rivalries next season in Rookie.

Bronze Update

I am back after a couple of busy workdays. I am taking over Bronze so Stanley can get a break. I don’t have the time to take on standings as often as I have in past years but when I can I would like to give those who keep OL chugging along a break.

Outside of Coney Island, who are still sitting in the top spot there was a lot of shuffling in positions in June. Cleveland went 6-1 to jump from 10th to 2nd place while New York went 9-3 to land in 3rd place.

Still half a season to go…..

Just for fun

A midweek look at Diamond, and with all OL teams just under .400, I'd say a good effort all round! Nobody in the relegation spots at the moment, but the influx of perfect BALs could well change that!

Cedar Rapids 3-1
Paxville 3-3
Texarcana 4-6

Paxville have only added 2 players in the last 2 and a half weeks. 92 RF Brian Jordan from my 2nd PD win , and 82 RP Mike Timlin from about 800 packs . Also completed diamond Baines, but he doesn't quite make the cut.

I'm on a go-slow now until the live update, so I doubt too much more will happen with the team before then...

8 packs waiting this morning thanks to some overnight tourney success... able to finish off more of the BAL mission for Wainwright, so a new pitcher joining the squad:

94 - Adam Wainwright (2013)

Al Brazle will be sent to the reserves to make room.

hopefully some more super pack luck will help complete the diamond mission and upgrade Wainwright to his 100 card.

Southpaws ahead in G304

A bunch of OL games yesterday shows Cary pulling into a clear lead:

Cary Southpaws: 11-1
Lemp Ave. Perfectos: 0-0 (no OL games all season)
Nowhere Men: 4-9
HelthWyzer Crakes: 1-6

It is still possible for Nowhere Men to pull it out, but they would have to win almost all their nine remaining games against Cary. The Crakes are mathematically eliminated at this point.

^ I didn't realize how few OL teams were in our league this year. 4? with one not playing any OL games? that's kinda sad

won't be much of a crown, maybe next year.

With 22 OL teams from Iron through Silver, being in Bronze I make sure I have those 22 and then grab random teams from higher and lower leagues to round it out until I am full.

Sundays I do look to see who is moving up and down from the slots I randomly added and may make changes. For me I find that quickest and easiest way to make sure I have coverage.

Frank Howard drafted into Penguins

Frank Howard, available in a special draft market, was secured by the Algoma Penguins. Not much of a fielder, Frank will be used primarily as DH.

Algoma Penguins spokesperson said:
"Right now the Algoma team is not able to generate a lot revenue. I mean we're on a freshwater lake so we do not have whale, shark or even dolphin revenue. Thus adding anyone through the special draft is Perfect for us"

There will be a crown. As long as there are four teams, with at least two having 10 or more games, a crown gets awarded.

Really, you just need to make sure that all the OL teams that will be in the league you are going to are on your friend's list. At this point, silver and higher teams are the minority in OL so it is pretty easy to keep it up to date for the higher levels.

thanks guys! it's probably laziness. I will make sure to switch it up Sunday. I was slacking last couple weeks but everyone was advancing so I guess I really didn't notice.

Didn't realize how alone we (Cary, Nowhere, Helthwyzer) were this week until your post. does anyone know how many OL teams there are?
