Good riddance, cheaters.
Let's go D-backs!

Why would the Giants want a manager who has super under achieved in San Diego? There something I'm missing?

Heck ya!
If it's Phils vs Rangers, that'll be a hard one to watch. Philly fans are right up there with Ohio State, Laker & New York fans some of the most obnoxious & insufferable. But while it was easy to root for the Rangers vs the BlackStros, now having to root for Scherzer (mercenary & d*ck who wussed out with the Dodgers in 2021), Garcia (first class knucklehead) & Chapman (sorry excuse for a human) will pretty dang hard... Besides Pham, the D-Backs are easy to cheer on... SOOO cool to see those cheaters - especially Altuve, Verlander, and Baker - lose. Highlight of the postseason IMO. |

SF poised to announce hiring Bob Melvin. If so, good choice, imo.

I think Melvin probably gets too much credit for his As days. You look at those teams and, yes, while they had some good records, they also had some bad records, and they had some good players on those teams. Maybe that's all we should expect from him, some good years and some bad years.
I'd be interested to hear from hardcore fans of the teams he's coached. Has he done a good job of managing his bullpen and bench? Has he kept egos down and spirits up? It more sounds like he got the job because he had a history with his new boss and as a boss of a disappointing franchise, where your own job is probably at risk by now (over Zaidi's 5 years, 2021 was the only year the Giants were over .500), you probably want someone you know you can at least trust. If the Giants don't turn things around fast, I'm sure we'll see a housecleaning soon and that will most likely include Melvin.

I bet any World Series game under 7 total runs favors the d backs and any game over 7 total runs favors the rangers

Dusty Baker is retiring.
Thanks for a HOF career, Dusty. And thanks for now giving me zero reasons to ever pull for the Astros.

Despite all the naysaying in various threads around here - I am giddy for Game 1.
![]() ![]() For the first time in several years, too, there's no team in the World Series that I absolutely loathe, which probably helps.

I'm still going to watch it but these are the two teams I definitely didn't want to see make the WS from the LCS.

Teams need to build their rosters for the playoffs instead of just loading up on regular season wins. I'd prefer the Mariners but I'm okay with watching the Rangers/DBacks. They have both come up clutch mutliple times in the face of adversity

Corbin Carroll looks like he's playing baseball in 1995.

First, I hate Corey Seager's guts.
Second, Mets fans are not surprised at all. Who rocks up in the World Series with Paul Bleeping Sewald as their closer?? ![]()

This game wouldn't have been so crappy if it was the Braves vs the Astros.

I so want to watch, but I just can't watch the Rangers win a World Series. I turned it on for the 1st inning hoping Arizona would get out to a big lead. It was 2 - 0 Rangers before I could blink an eye. Turned it off and crossed my fingers for a Arizona comeback. Maybe I jinxed things when I checked the score, the Backs were up 5-3 in the 5th. Ugh!
