As nice as Damariscotta is, the south of France definitely wins this one.

How'd you manage to escape Long Island? My father-in-law has been trying for 60 years, and still hasn't found a way out.

Anyways...I'm about twenty miles north of Worcester, MA. Needless to say, I'm excited for the WooSox coming this way this year.

Yeah, not much of a contest. Especially in the winter

I lived in Adrian, MI 2006 to 2007. Must not have been too far away. And you won the 4th year of the league I created (and still in your sig). This is so cool to learn and think back of things.

But as for myself. I'm from Mariner land. Born and raised in the semi-rural (not suburb but not quite the sticks either) western side of the cascade mountains in Washington State. Since then I have lived and worked all over the United States and have in my older years (past decade and some change) spent a lot of time in South Korea where I am now.

I read earlier in this thread about an Orioles guy who was appreciative of the Orioles commentators. I grew up with the unforgettable Dave Niehaus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Niehaus and his voice is forever a part of me when I think about baseball.

Edit: You guys sent me into nostalgia mode so I went and watched this gem again, if you love the Mariners, grew up listening to Dave Niehaus, or just love baseball... this artist did it all justice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvNQWQSwmow

I live in a suburb of Charleston, South Carolina known as Goose Creek. I have lived here off and on since I was 2. The most famous baseball players from this area are Bryce Florie, a former MLB pitcher, who pitched for the Hanahan Hawks in high school, and Gorman Thomas who played for the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners and is from Charleston, SC.

My favorite team is the Chicago Cubs although I grew up a Philadelphia Phillies fan. I was born in Wilmington, Delaware and for three years (1977-1970) I lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania just blocks from Veterans Stadium. I loved all of the Philadelphia sports teams especially the Flyers and when I play FMH I love to play the 1970's/1980's Philadelphia Flyers. In May 1984 I became a Cubs fan and turned my Dad onto baseball and one of the biggest thrills I had was sharing the moments in 2016 of the Cubs clinching the pennant and winning the World Series.

As for biggest claim to fame, I got to meet a few real-life Major Leagues in 1992 for a baseball clinic. It was originally going to be outdoors, but rain moved the clinic indoors to a gymnasium. I got pictures and autographs of Dave Kingman, Bert Campaneris, Doug Flynn, Jeff Burroughs, Bill Madlock, Paul Blair, and my personal favorite, Bob Feller. I still have the autographed baseball from that date. All of them were nice, but the friendliest was Jeff Burroughs. Dave Kingman was HUGE. I always thought he was big and tall on TV, but he is a giant or at least he was back then.

The first version of OOTP I played was OOTP13. Prior to that, I was a Diamond Mind Baseball fan for many years and Strat-O-Matic the board and computer game. My introduction to computer baseball games was Earl Weaver Baseball and then MicroLeague Baseball. Out of all of them, none comes close to matching OOTP. And I echo the sentiments of many on this forum who give kudos to the community and support team at OOTP. Sincerely, thank you for all that you do.

Just outside St. Paul, MN. So pumped for the Saints to be the Twins AAA affiliate. I'm about 20-30 minutes from their ballpark.

Yeap that was me with the Crystalis Robins. 1904 LBA Champs.

Adrian is about 45 minutes from me, been there a few times...

Also, know that your LBA creation lives on in other universes and games, My main fictional league that I play in OOTP is largely based on the LBA, many of the same team names, some new ones. I used the old map that you created to create my own Laseron universe. I imagine the league is set 100 years after the beginning of the LBA in 1900. So many city sizes have changed and out of it has come new teams.

The Tor Mal Hammerheads have won the last two championships.

Also, I have an adaption of the LBA that I created for History Maker Baseball (A baseball boardgame by Plaay.com), it uses the 1903 and 1904 seasons.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread a bit...

Thanks,

Well, like it says to the left. I live in Iowa. I still have not been to the Field of Dreams, which is sad lol.

However, I grew up in the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant. If yiu see cans of Peas at your grocery store called Le Sueur very young small sweet peas, it's named after my hometown and the hometown of Green Giant.

Grew up in the heyday of the Minnesota Twins of Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek, Bert Blyleven, Frank Viola, Scott Erickson, Gary Gaetti. One game as a kid as we were going back home on a bus from a twins game Greg Gagne drove past us honking in his car. His license plate read Gags8 which was his uniform number and it was a fancy little sports car.

That's about it.

Thanks,
Nice to see someone else here who plays Keith Avallone's fine games. I have yet to purchase HMB, though I have been planning on doing so for some time. But I do play a lot of Hockey Blast and I still think that Second Season is one of the finest sports simulation board games ever created (in spite of the fact that I'm less and less of a football fan with each passing year.) And very curious about the upcoming basketball game as well.
