It was indeed. Complete shutdowns of lineups in the pennant and World Series, including both game 7s... I have yet to see another pitcher dominate on that level throughout each play-off game. You caught lightning!

P413 Season 13 2031 mini-whale league

Yeah the market will likely crash but we may see people use both since they already invested huge amounts and not everyone figured out how to utilize multiple email accounts.

Not everyone will be able to get the same players a second time and may enjoy what they have here.
The mobile app will bring people to the new version.

60 games in, the NC Central is proving to be quite a dumpster fire. Still no team with a positive run differential. Burgers are on a pace to score a burly 604 runs.

Against RHP, more guys hitting below .250 than above it! Pudge anchoring this potent offense with a .149 avg, projected to finish with a -2.8 WAR. Team is hitting .250 for the season, somehow 5 other teams are below that.

yeah, I'd imagine a lot of people will still stick around these parts.... heck, you can have both v19 and v20 running at the same time, so not that difficult to toggle back-n-forth between them... there's only so much tweaking you can do on your team before you're just waiting for the next sim...

One of the things that will hurt 19 is the uncertainty of how long it will be supported. I think actively managed teams (and OOTP should know who those are) should be supported as long as they are actively managed while the abandoned teams can be shut down.

Although they can really only expect to support a finite set of servers and backend infrastructure. I don't think they can realistically support something like 5 sets of PT universes for instance no matter how many active players.

if they can keep v19 and v20 running at the same time up to the launch of v21, I'd call that a success.... with a full year of sims, you'll get 48 seasons of PT... if v20 can run up to the launch of v22, that'll give your team 96 years of play (that's some serious geriatric league stuff if you get a card that sticks with the team from day 1 )

I think with every release the backend infrastructure will become more mature and all the hardware/cloud partner will understand the processing/deployment and maintenance requirements.

I assume at one point or another handling older versions could be outsourced and handled by a contracted team.

I agree with your comment. People tend to stop once they are 3-4 versions behind (unless we are talking about the operating system. We still see plenty of windows XP or windows 7 out there).

For now, I will try my best to continue with both 19 and 20.

I am having enough trouble putting together one winning team in this version, let alone two. Throwing a second version on top of that would overload my feeble brain. Instead of a winning team, I would be left with what I have now... a whining team.

Nice try...I don't buy it though.
You managed to put this league together and manage all the updates from all the various folks commenting all over the place. Thank you for the patience and effort.

I wish we could give you the option to export the friends list and share it so we just need to save it to a certain OOTP folder.

It is a bittersweet day in Louisville. One of my first big purchases, Willie Mays (96), is gone.

Willie had performed poorly in the past few years, and his slow start in 2031 was the final straw. He was pushed to the reserve roster by a platoon of Richie Ashburn and Garry Maddox. The platoon is generating more OPS (less power though) and playing a much better defense in center field.

My roster is still loaded with power hitters, so I decided to see what Willie would bring in a sparse auction house. I priced him at a BIN 10% over the all-time average price and 30% over the past five average, and he sold in a couple of hours.

Goodbye, Willie. You were a good friend and I have no regrets, but the times they are a changin'. The meta has shifted a bit and RH power hitters are not what they used to be. Frank Robinson, Al Kaline, and Johnny Bench are still around, so I have plenty of that genre on hand in case the trend shifts again. But it is time to allocate those points toward more contact, eye, and defense, because the plan is working and my team is playing better than they have in years.

For OOTP20, hopefully we won't even have to manage a friends list.

I'm in danger of having both of my teams relegated.

Keystone combo survey

I thought I would share the results. All 30 teams were included in the survey. Keep in mind that it is a snapshot and teams could change their lineups anytime. This could have been the only day that their combo played together or they could have been running it all season. I know mine has changed a lot. But still the trends were interesting.

- 9 teams platooned at 2B, only 2 at SS
- Most common combo: Lajoie/Smith (2), Gilliam/Smith (2)
- Different players used at 2B: 22
- Different players used at SS: 9
- Most common 2B (solo or platoon): Vizquel (4), Collins, Betts (3)
- Most common SS (solo or platoon): Smith (12), Simmons (6)
- Players appearing on only 1 team at 2B: 11
- Players appearing on only 1 team at SS: 4

Okay, finally some pack luck. I went to pack only with OOTP 20 around the corner and with my measily 1k bought a pack. I got a gold live card which refunded my 1k with a quick sell. I bought another pack and pulled a rather lame Live Diamond. I took the 4k from the quick sell and got 4 packs.......and pulled my new starting catcher. Johnny Bench to the Bench, welcome 96 Carlton Fisk!

He starts his first game in 5 minutes.

I dont know why I ever buy packs ... I never come out ahead ... but that chance of pulling one of the big cards that I wont be able to otherwise get ... always has me rolling the dice .... bought 100 packs yesterday ... lost about 50k ... such is life! I guess its a good thing .. it will build my karma for the 20 version
