The Jays hit the Twins early and then held off the resurgent Minnesota to beat them 6-4. Joe Mauer just held off the attack of Brett Lawrie to get the third jewel in the triple crown. Meanwhile, Rex Brothers is now the save leader in the AL. WP - Josh Johnson (3-1) Save - Rex Brothers (14) LP - Ryan Pressly (0-5) Record - 25-23 The Jays are now tied with the Astros for the second Wild Card spot. |

Colby Lewis pitched a great game but the real story came in the 9th. Ahead by one run, bases loaded, none out, with Rex Brothers up there for the Jays. His defense comes up big, as Salvadore Perez hits into an amazing 6-2-3 double play and then Brothers strikes out Alex Gordon to get his league leading 15th save. WP - Colby Lewis (7-1) Save - Rex Brothers (15) LP - Danny Duffy (1-5) Record - 26-24 Last edited by rpriske; 08-30-2013 at 12:15 PM. |

Nolan Reimold, Jarret Hoffpauir and Tim Dillard are added to the Jays roster.
Leury Garcia, George Springer and Moises Sierra are sent to Buffalo. Adrian Houser was assigned to S A Vancouver. George Springer is considered the top prospect in the Jays system now. Last edited by rpriske; 08-30-2013 at 07:29 PM. |

Jose Bautista broke out of his slump by plastering a Chad Gaudin pitch out of the park for a big 3-run homer that shifted the game for the Jays and gave them a 9-7 win over the Royals. WP - Steve Delabar (2-0) Save - Rex Brothers (16) LP - Chad Gaudin (1-1) Record - 27-25 |

It wasn't the performance R.A. Dickey was hoping for on his return to the bigs, but he kept the Jays in the game and an Anthony Gose Sac Fly gave them the edge as they beat the Phillies 6-5. Jose Bautista got his 13th homer of the year. Brett Lawrie went 2 for 4 with an RBI. WP - Carter Capps (2-0) Save - Luke Gregerson (2) LP - Mike Adams (2-3) Record - 29-25 |

Just when it looked like the Blue Jays were going to sweep the home-and-home series against the Phillies, Philadelphia came back in the bottom of the 9th, giving a blown save to Luke Gregerson and then scored in the 10th to take the 7-6 win. WP - Jonathan Paplebon (2-4) LP - Luke Gregerson (0-2) Record - 30-26 Last edited by rpriske; 09-03-2013 at 09:43 AM. |

This was a costly loss for Toronto. Not only did they get shut-out 4-0 by Tommy Hunter and the Orioles, costing them valuable ground in the division race, but Ivan Nova had to leave the game with an unknown injury. WP - Tommy Hunter (6-5) LP - Ivan Nova (4-5) Record - 30-27 |

The Orioles made a late push and with Rex Brothers laid up with the flu, the Jays turned to Luke Gregerson and while things got interesting, with two men reaching scoring position, he held them off for the save. Jose Bautista's big 3-run homer made him pass Brett Lawrie for both the league homerun lead and RBI lead. WP - Josh Johnson (4-1) Save - Luke Gregerson (3) LP - Brian Matusz (4-5) Record - 31-27 |

Another win and the Jays are now deadlocked again with the Orioles. This time a big 5 run 5th led to a 7-4 Jay win. Tyler Moore went 2 for 5 with a homer. Eric Hosmer also went deep. Jesus Montero left the game with an undisclosed injury. WP - R.A. Dickey (3-1) Save - Aaron Crow (1) LP - Wei-Yin Chen (5-4) Record - 32-27 |
