Bought all the OOTP versions but PERSONALLY wasnt so happy with the last couple of years and didnt use them that much, partly due to slow speed, partly difficult and complex to get round and other personal views.

THIS version is much slicker, quickler and easier to get round and I like the interface and new features and I am certain this one will get lots of playing time. Hope the historical sim side is as good as claimed too.
Well done OOTP !

I believe these changes should be preserved, but I cannot claim to have specifically tested it... I'm sure you'll let us know if they weren't!

I'm really impressed so far. I've only spent about 45 minutes with it, but setup a league, simmed a year and took control of a team.

I like the new interface a lot (the new default skin, included).

I haven't gotten too much into any new features, but the improved speed is huge.

So far so good!

As has been stated, speed much improved. Added the real face gen portraits and they are pretty amazing and whoever did the work on the MLB uniforms and caps did outstanding work. And I think those somewhat maligned baseball cards are going to be pretty damn cool once the modders get to work on them.

Downloaded the game this morning, imported my league from 10, and then that was all I had time to do because I had to go to work. Can't wait to get back home and start fiddling around.

May I ask this question? In 10, I deleted all of the nickname files and used an edited version of injury.txt. Will the game import these settings, or do I need to overwrite the default files?

Thanks very much, and it did seems faster this morning, but I'll know more this evening.

Thanks Markus!!

All of my special database info from my imported leagues has stayed exactly the same. I, unlike Steve , have tested it.

Ran my first game, taking on the Tampa Bay Rays. Won 2-1 on a Ben Zorbist homer off of Kevin Millwood, who went the distance for Baltimore. Much like the real 2010 opener for the Rays, the Rays didn't lead until the final at bat. Uncanny.

Install problems

I'd love to share in the fun...unfortunately, as with version 10, 11 won't install on my laptop (I blame vista...always a safe bet). 10 installed fine on my XP desktop, which unfortunately passed away this weekend (services will be held at the pier, with a subsequent burial at sea...if, by 'sea', you mean brackish creek that runs through my backyard). After trying all the obvious things (full uninstall, running the .exe as an admin, that sort of stuff), I've given up and submitted a support ticket. Markus, I've been with you since v. 4, so hopefully this won't signal the end of my OOTP-related procrastination.

Have only messed with it for an hour or so, but I really like some of the interface improvements. Finding it easier to get where I wanted to go.

Improved speed! Mass Select! Real Facegen!

That's ok Battists. Is it possible that you would make periodic posts in the Manual thread that would give a note on where some of the latest updates were made? Just curious. I'll just watch your thread like a hawk (Harrelson...WSox announcer)!

Thanks again for all your work. With my new PC system I also got a new printer and it does color well. My finished 3 ring binder of the manual will look good. Worked with papers and books all my life so this will be fun to do.

With the all in one mod and speed of the game.. not to mention the dark skin and interface improvements, I'm happy so far!

Thank you Markus!

I installed the game on windows vista; clicked cancel on the demo notification window, and then procceded to paste my license key in: "enter license key".

the key is accepted, the license activated, but if i close the game, i will get the demo notification window again, and have to activate again :/ I really dont think this is supposed to happen...what am i doing wrong?

Did you install using the default settings and as Admin?
Maybe that you need to run the game as Admin when you start it first time.

Edit: And BTW, who is that in your avatar?

The game refused to finish installing. It gave sound error messages. I don't use sound with OOTP. Finally I had to sync up my Bluetooth headphones and only then would the game finish the install.

Sound in OOTP isn't important enough to cause this much hassle. I'm very disappointed with OOTP 11 so far.

Congratulations Markus and all of OOTP developments on the release of ootp 11.

I've spent the first couple of hours running three test leagues to get my league total modifiers in line for the upcoming import of my version 4-10 on going dynasty. Only takes about 8-10 minutes to sim through a season the rest of the time was spent tweaking settings and looking around the magnificent new GUI, congrats go to the designer.

To my surprise I found myself liking the default "white" skin best. The blue is very nice looking but a little too transparent for my taste with the underlying photo being a bit distracting. Not complaining I'm sure others love it.

When Markus first suggested he would remove the lower menu bar, and then made it optional, I could not see me playing without it. I disabled it after about 15 minutes with the game The top menu is very intuitive and I can easily do everything I want from there both saving screen real estate for more rows of stats and restricting my mouse movements to the top of the screen. No more up and down

Just finished lunch and have to get back to the game. Finally ready to import my current game and get down to business.

I never saw anything like that. You sure you have enough HD space? Try installing to a different folder...

Hmm, the "run as administrator option" is greyed out, so I cant check it :/ strange, because I'm the only person using this laptop, and mine is the only user account...

Open control panel >> Users and check your user account, I guess it is not an Administrator account. I'm definitely admin on my Vista computer and "run as admin" is always available for me.
