Dola,
They could have just signed me for the league minimum, they'd be getting a better bang for their buck. |

Jamie Moyer is pitching a decent game so far, eh?

dola,
In a completely unrelated tangent, the best pitching performances of Moyer's long and distinguished career are a pair of complete game two-hitters, coming 20 years apart, (August 16, 1986 against the Reds) and (June 2, 2006 against the Royals). |

I tried not to jinx Moyer's no-hitter, but he still ended up pitching a great game. 7.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.
Moyer is now 3-1, 2.65 ERA on the year. This guy is FOURTY-FOUR years old and still fooling big league hitters. Long may you run, Jamie! |

It's pretty amazing that he can be so successful with velocity that would seem tame in American Legion ball.

It seems that time is catching up to old man Gordon. He's come back to Philly to have his shoulder examined.
I wonder if Manuel might try using Myers as a closer. |

Aaron Rowand is the subject of Marc Normandin's "Player Profile" this week at BB Pro. I know he has quite a few fans here and in Chicago. A good and lengthy read.

The Phillies managed to spoil Lincecum's debut, although it may have been hard to know about since the ESPN broadcast was nearly incessant in its focus upon Barry Bonds. Aye yi yi.
I don't know, but it just may be that Cole Hamels has one of the best changeups in the game. It's absolutely scary how he gets hitters flailing helplessly at it, or sometimes the hitters just freeze and watch it drop softly into the zone. |

Looks like Freddy's been hitting the bong again, guys.
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns How awesome is it that the Phils' pitching coach is named Dubee? :2joints: |

Oh well, perfection and no hitter gone. But we're owning, which is what matters in the end. Cole is giving a great performance tonight too...

So, I haven't seen Hamels pitch all year. Finally got to see some action thanks to a rainout.
From what I saw, I can understand why people in Philly were raving about this kid. What a nasty changeup. |

Well, we get a much needed day of rest and then we'll see if Cole can put us above .500.

2 games over, and Ryan looks like he's healthy, finally.
