Financial Report. With so much more flexibility in the financial realm the finanical report is even more important for evaluating overall league finances.

I miss the popularity ratings for players. This really adds to the reality of the GMing mode as there are fan base repercussions for dealing star players. This system just needed to be tweaked.
The "owner's mood" bar graph also was a good thing. GM's do talk to their owners once in a while, so firing isn't just a random thing... The PBP should again notice the playoffs and when teams won the series or will win the series if they "win this game". Please, please bring back the trade block and written comments from scouts. Both were very cool. The free agent process isn't nearly as cool as it used to be. I don't know if its the missing offers screen, or the fact that I've really never had a bidding war with another team and a series of emails telling me who has the best offer and that I need to beat it (a major flaw in the system remains that the team with the leading offer still can not raise their initial offer) I don't know if the stars have been replaced because it seems that there are only certian views that you can view the overall and potential scores out of 80. That should be the default of the batting and pitching ratings views. If OOTP is about customization than people can turn it off if they don't like this... --------- This isn't "from" 6.5, but it NEEDS to be fixed for the game to sim well... PLEASE seperate the "good news/bad news" from scout messages from personal messages. There are FAR too many of them and they slow the game down immensely. They are not nearly as important as the rest of the personal messages, so currently OOTPers have to either slog through dozens of these stops a year or they have to uncheck the option to stop on personal messages and just hope for the best. THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ME... Another change I'd like to see made is that, I'd like to get emails whenever a major league scout, coach, or doctor gets fired if they fall within a user-set filter. This would be EXTREMELY important news to GM's (not really to fans) and the game doens't even notice it. Also, BRING BACK THE BAR FIGHT INJURY! |

Please no popularity. I don't want to lose 5,000 fans a game because some mediocre MR randomly had become popular.
I'd love for the default to be controlling all aspects of a team. I'm tired of reading the complaints about the AI messing with people's depths, lineups, etc, and then being told to check boxes and make sure they are the GM and aren't acting as the GM. Just make it so when I control a team, I control all aspects of the darn team. If I don't want to control something, then I can hit a silly button.

The biggest problem is that once you start a game, you can't edit the list. One thing that is actually in 6.5 that is not in 2006 is the ability to edit the player names pool for the upcoming draft. In the new version, you get whatever names existed in the text file (or were converted from 6.5), and that's it forever. We need the ability to correct mistakes or edit the nations, cities, names, and injuries files and have them take effect in the game from that point forward without jumping through the hoops of starting a new game.

Since the 6.51 version seems to have a lot of features not available in 2006, a good idea would be to make that version available for free to those of us who bought 2006 but don't have previous versions. That way we would better be able to contribute to this thread.

I think the little things that made the previous versions so good are what is missing the most.

Real world attendance is usually more a factor of: winning, history and ballpark.

I'd also like it to be alot less random. I'd have guys playing for years who were listed as unknown. I can see guys being disliked or controversial (Albert Belle for example) but you're not unknown. Market size should influence popularity as well since guys playing for places like LA or New York get far more exposure than Kansas City. Last edited by Zitofan75; 07-13-2006 at 04:46 PM. |

Add 1 more vote for the 7 day lineup option...Doesn't even have to necessarily be 7 days, but some sort of similiar option to where one can set lineups days in advance for league that simulate multiple days at a time.
