RE: Ballparks

To help kick things off, I was thinking that maybe we'd go with the historic ballparks for the teams in real MLB cities and let the non-MLB city teams pick a ballpark model based on one of the other real ballparks.

Then in future seasons, we can put a modification/new ballpark system in place.

I like what you have going here so far, the only thing I am leary of (though certainly willing to give it a try) is the no ratings/talents. If your not going to run a team in the league then I am pretty much of the opinion that whatever settings you want to try are good.

I'm not going to run a team, so everyone will be on an equal footing. I've been wanting to try a hidden ratings league for awhile. It adds some challenge when you don't know what a player is "supposed" to do, but have to go on scouting and his performance on the field (just like real life skippers).

All teams are filled, but I am waiting on nicknames and contact info from several GMs.

As soon as I get that, we can get the draft rolling.

Dude come on I know the Mardi Gras parades started Saturday but its still 2 weeks till Mardi Gras so you might want to go easier on those Hurricanes and Margaritas (I am assuming based on your avatar that you like drinks with little paper umbrellas in them...

if yu even think yu have a remote chance of beating an experienced PROFESSIONAL team....

Heard from Chicago & Cleveland - just waiting on Brooklyn now (I suspect I'll hear from him today).

The draft order (randomly selected by the sim):

1) Detroit
2) Chicago
3) Washington
4) New Orleans
5) Philadelphia
6) Brooklyn
7) Cincinnati
8) New York
9) Albany
10) Cleveland
11) Baltimore
12) Jersey City
13) St.Louis
14) Minneapolis
15) Boston
16) Milwaukee

The draft will be a snake draft, so the order reverses in even rounds.

Joe, will you be posting the league file for drafting purposes, or will we be using the web pages posted previously?

I also noticed about 15-20 players in the 1st year player draft section that do not show up in the free agents section.

I actually draft allmost exactly where I would like, which is last. It's nice to get those 2 picks in a row in the snake style draft.

I'd say draft order doesn't mean that much if we you don't see the ratings. You mostly just look at the stars. It might actually be better to pick later cause you can get more 5* players.
