On another note...started a new team The London Rippers (formerly of the Frontier League, I believe). So, I'm thinking only guys named Jack or Jackson or such. Think I can get a decent team together like that?

and if Jack/Jackson doesn't give enough names, can always expand a bit and include names with "Rip" in it... Ripper Collins, Rip Repulski, Cal Ripken, etc.... not sure how many more that really adds, but fits the theme in a way

Port Ruppert have won 4 out of 5 series played, leaving the others with serious work to do!

9 games left between Aomori and Port Ruppert, 7 between Aomori and Mount Hawke.

It's a shame that LA have a big fat zero this week.

Shinbone won three-of-four to take the lead, while Long Beach dipped to 4-5, dropping to second. Columbia, in its busiest month of the OL season, racked up 10 wins to move into third, and Bushwood swept four games to regain relevance.

just a couple OL games last month in Gold and no change in the standings... I'll have a Sat update fairly early, but the final Sun post might be later in the day (heading to Tampa on Sat and won't be back until Sun afternoon/evening)

Brooklyn holding on with the slimmest of leads heading into the final month

OL saw a major shake up in the standings as Bushwood, 3-1 (all against Shinbone), the Doug Outs, 6-0 (including a road sweep of Shinbone), and Waxhaw, 10-5, to double its win total, grabbed the medal spots. Columbia, 3-4, Shinbone, 4-9, and Long Beach, 2-7, all wilted under the August sun to fall to 4th, 5th, and 6th, respectively. The only good news for the tumbling trio is that September will be a busy month in Our League. Only Columbia, with just three road games against Baltimore, might be a little short of schedule. The Cougars can take hope from the fact that there are enough games among the contenders for them to do serious damage to each other. The rest of the contenders remaining play is as follows:

Bushwood - 3 @ GRS, 3 @ DOO
Doug - 4 @ GRS, 3 v BUC, 3 @ SHS, 3 v GRS, 4 v SHS
Waxhaw - 1 @ BAB, 3 @ BAB, 3 v ACB, 4 @ LBS
Shinbone - 3 @ GRS, 3 v DOO, 4 @ DOO
Long Beach - 4 v WAW, 3 v BAB

It seems that the road to OL glory may run through Greenland, as the Seals have a whopping 13 games to play, including 10 at home, and could conceivably make a miracle run of their own with a baker's dozen of victories available to them. Hopefully, there will be enough of a race to encourage an update later this afternoon or evening.
