Doesn't mean anything to me unless I cash. The way I see it, I'm done for a few weeks either way after today. Just not pleased that the effort I'm putting in is not being rewarded by the other side, so I'd rather go do something else for a little while and then come back refreshed.
EDIT: Out in round 1, exactly how I predicted. If I wanted to be rewarded with nothing for a month's worth of efforts, I'd go work in McDonald's or something. Hopefully I never qualify for a PTCS again, and if by some fluke I do, I want my spot given to the poor guy who finishes 129th in the monthly standings. Let them feel my anger of having wasted a month's worth of effort for no reward. I'm done with this eSports competitive nonsense. Keep that crap out of my games. Diamond League
Congratulations to the Aomori Bakemonotachi! They took a comfortable 2-1 series win from the final set against Mount Hawke.
Another very strong showing from Aomori, in a week where all the OL teams acquitted themselves pretty well. Aomori coasted to another division title, and must have a decent chance of going one better than the last 2 weeks. Mount Hawke failed to win their division again, but I'm surprised they pushed it so close, given how bad their starting pitching was. IF they make it through the wildcard, they get the unenviable task of taking on Aomori again! But, the playoff reset may make the Tinners pitching come to life... Good luck, Slinky! |

OL Bronze 218
For all of yesterday's pronouncements of a looming battle for the OL crown, Baltimore visited SaukCentre on September 8th for a three game set and, by the night of the 10th, had rendered it all academic. The Barons completed a sweep by scores of 7-5, 6-3, and 5-2, clinching the crown with weeks to spare. Congratulations.
In PT play, Our League is well represented, particularly if you are a fan of the Landsharks consortium. An all Landsharks World Series is possible, as is a three-headed promotion to Silver next season. There will be no team relegated. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 08-07-2022 at 07:45 AM. |

Gold league:
The Gold league OL crown came down to the final game between New York and Waffletown. New York led the race by percentage points after taking the first two games of the series, but if the Syrups could salvage a win in the final game, it would be enough to claim their first OL crown this version. Despite giving up 13 hits in game 3, Waffletown managed to escape with a 5-4 win and the OL Gold tier crown. Overall, Claptown and Waffletown claimed wild card spots to represent OL in the post season. there will be no relegations from Gold this season. |

I feel like I've reached a plateau and won't be able to improve my team significantly from here on out, so I'm half tempted to sell off a bunch of cards and see how well I can do with a diamond or lower 1875 cap (or something like that). It would be really cool if we could set up private PT leagues in the future and define roster restrictions instead of relying on a friends list.

Aomori and Mount Hawke were both knocked out early by the same, scrub righty-cheeser who barely squeaked into the WC. We'll still be in diamond next season.

Outlook for 2035
All team movement is set, so it's time to check your Friends List and make sure you submit. Hopefully we'll get a perfect score this time. Only Iron will be short of teams for a crown chase. Carde Era Craze is still alive in the PT playoffs in Rookie, while Baltimore and Aceldama are playing to see who makes the Bronze series from the AC, hopefully against Long Beach from the NC. All other OL teams are done for 2034. Too bad we didn't get the Silver Standings done this week, but next week should be covered.
Here's the set up: Diamond - Port Ruppert, Aomori, Los Angeles, Mont Hawke Gold - North Bay, Madder Do Ees, New York, Holy City, Auckland, Claptown, Waffletown Silver - Wilmington, Columbia, Doug, Baltimore, Aceldama, Long Beach, Shinbone, Greenland, Waxhaw, Buswood Bronze - Colorado Springs, Brooklyn, Bruno, Coney Island, Daytona Beach, Terra Incognita, Eden Prairie, SaukCentre, Grovers Mill Iron - Fort Davis, Belo Horizonte Stone - Savannah, New Zealand, Bordeaux, Austin, Card Era |
