Daytona Beach wins its lone game to take the lead. No team has asserted itself, but neither has any team buried itself in the early going.

Mevagissey and Claptown share the early lead, with North Bay not far off the pace. Waffletown still waiting for their first OL games (which is probably a good thing for them, since they can't seem to win a game this season) |

I hope you both have a nice run and get into the card rewards. My drafts have been frickin awful. I doubt that anyone who's entered as many as I have has done worse! (My 2 wins and a 2nd all came before the leaderboards were live, a looong time ago.)

finally finished the Negro League pitchers mission, which also completed the Negro Leagues complete, so Waffletown picks up:
SP - Bullet Joe Rogan and from the Perfect pack reward from the complete mission: C - Fred Carroll |

Only three games separate the teams, from top to bottom, after the season's second month.

Waffletown makes the most of their limited schedule so far to go a perfect 2-0 to grab a temporary lead. |

It's weeks like this that make me question whether it's all worth it. All of my effort, all of my work, and it spits back a rubbish record and a long losing streak. Almost like I'm completely wasting my time.
Think it's time to sell up and throw the silver tournament players out there, they can't do any worse. My only problem on that front is that the market is down bad on the guys I own and can sell, and not looking to get any better. Last edited by Magus978; 08-03-2022 at 02:10 PM. |

Aomori are in a good spot and they also have the extra fixtures with LA coming up, either side of the ASG.

With Brooklyn and SaukCentre in a dead heat at the top, the OL race remains wide open, as the spread from first to last is still only 3 1/2 games.

Waffletown remains perfect by not playing any OL games (more OL play for the Syrups next month, so fully expect some changes in the standings) |

I've pretty much decided to take a timeout from my packs teams, Mevagissey and Claptown. They've pulled some decent stuff over the first few months, but good non-dupe silver+ pulls have slowed to a trickle and it doesn't feel like time well spent doing the quick sell and rip grind. If the Platinum 1 cards aren't coming back to packs later on, I'll never be able to finish those missions, which is a bit depressing as well.
With less time for the game now, I'll mostly focus on Mount Hawke for a while. Is anyone else noticing the game running badly since Monday? Things like the tournament screens not loading, and taking a couple of attempts to load my teams. Edit: This problem has gone away now. Last edited by Tinkerman; 08-04-2022 at 02:38 PM. |

Diamond League
Thought I'd do an update today as there's only 3 games left now.
Aomori took some advantage from their 'extra' 6 games against LA, going 4-2. Port Ruppert took the final game of a 4-game series against Mount Hawke, to avoid the sweep and make the Tinner's challenge to overcome Aomori a good deal harder. So, Mount Hawke need to somehow find a way to sweep the Bakemonotachi in the final 3 games, or the sun will be rising Sunday on another crown for Aomori. |

OL Bronze 218
Baltimore, 8-2, posts a hot summer month to rise to the top, with SaukCentre, 10-6, stalking them from just a game behind.

OL Bronze 218
The race to capture the Bronze OL Crown shows the potential to be hotly contested, as just 4 games separate the top six teams, with the entire half-dozen having a clear path to the top with stellar play. Front running Baltimore slipped to 4-5 in August, while second place SaukCentre posted a 3-3 mark, allowing Eden Prairie, 6-3, to close within a game. Bruno swept their only three games and are 3-1/2 back, tied with Daytona Beach. Those Tortugas, 3-6, and Brooklyn, 5-7, each wilted in the summer heat, but both teams have enough OL games remaining to turn the tide. Acledama, 6-3, also climbed back into the race.
As for the remaining games, Baltimore has only three roadies left, visiting SaukCentre early in September. SaukCentre also travels for three against Aceldama. Eden Prairie has one road contest left with Grovers Mill, before hosting the Invaders for three and finishing their OL schedule at home against Terra Incognita. Daytona Beach battles for sand-based supremacy with six versus Long Beach, three at each shore line. Bruno would seem to have the least trepidatious path with seven of their remaining games against Coney Island, whom they've dominated, winning 10-of-12. The Oblates also host Grovers Mill for four. Their games against the Warriors are, however, all at Coney Island. Acledama, with 12 games left, has nine against Brooklyn, three home, six road, in addition to the three with SaukCentre. The Dynasty has only those nine games with Aceldama. In PT play, OL seems well positioned to make a mark on the post season and the lowest ranking OL team is six clear of relegation.
