It took 161 games to decide, but on the second to last day of the regular season, Great Raft was finally able to celebrate a Tripel division title and punch their ticket to another post season.

With Ballast Point closing in, the Goslings just needed to win one of their last two games to secure the final wild card spot. While Twisted X put up a good effort, Goose Island emerged with a 6-3 win and earned their first trip to the Beer League post season.

With 162 games in the books, there is still one playoff spot up for grabs as the Russian River Blind Pig and the Crooked Crab Furious George finish with identical 82-80 records and will meet in a winner-take-all game 163 for the final wild card ticket.

Blind Pig rout Furious George to claim final wild card spot

The crowd at Crooked Crab was raucous and ready for a battle as their boys hoped to claim the final wild card spot and head to the post season. That rowdy optimism quickly vanished as Russian River came out swinging. The Blind Pig scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st; and 3 more in the 3rd; and 2 in the 4th; and 3 in the 5th; and 5 in the 6th; and 3 in the 7th; and 2 more in the 9th to cap off a 20-3 shellacking to leave no doubt which club would be heading to the playoffs and which would be heading home.

Ruhl wins Lager League Batting Crown

Meadowlark Mob Barley shortstop Dylan Ruhl claimed the Lager League batting crown with an impressive .384 average, which also sets a new Beer League single season mark for future batters to target.

Ruhl finished the year with a league best 249 hits, 116 runs scored, 50 doubles, 11 triples, 8 home runs, 82 RBIs and a .419 on base percentage to go along with his league best batting average.

Frausto best bat in the Stout League


Four Hands Typhon left fielder Roberto Frausto took home the batting title honors for the Stout League with his .362 average. He finished the year with 243 hits (tops in the Stout League), 106 runs scored, 57 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run, 79 RBIs and a .411 on base percentage

Triple Crown for Horswill!

Another year, another Pitching Triple Crown winner! This time, it's Red Rock Elephino ace Brian Horswill. Despite pitching for a medicore 81-81 team that missed the playoffs, Horswill dominated in his games, leading the Stout League in wins, ERA and strikeouts with his 20-4 record, 2.43 ERA and 251 strikeouts.

#1 Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot (128-34) vs #4WC Goose Island Goslings (86-76) - shockingly, Goose Island won the season series 5 games to 4, so last season's mega-upset team Weyerbacher (who was the #4 wild card in 2020) can't take this series for granted.

#2 Scorched Earth Giant Killer (105-57) vs #3WC Charleville Half Wits - the heavily favored Giant Killer handily won the season series 7-1

#3 Great Raft Reasonably Corrupt (100-62) vs #2WC Tree House Tornado (92-70) - Tree House claimed the season series 5-3 so potential for an upset.

#4 Boulder Killer Penguin (92-70) vs #1WC Meadowlark Mob Barley (98-64) - Boulder took the season series 6-2 but Meadowlark slightly favored by the odds makers thanks to their better overall record


Stout League:

#1 Terrapin Hopsecutioner vs #4WC Russian River Blind Pig (83-80) - Terrapin took the season series 7-2, and Russian River burned their ace starter in game 163 so a tough hill to climb for the Blind Pig

#2 Kona Pipeline vs #3WC Odious Cellars Rubied Perspective (84-78) - Odious Cellars won the season series 5-4 so anyone's game here. Whichever way it goes, should be a slugfest (1st and 5th ranked offense; 12th and 16th ranked defense).

#3 Sleeping Giant Beaver Duck (86-76) vs #2WC Palmetto Ghost Rider (91-71) - the Beaver Duck won the season series 6-2 and have the superior ranked offense and defense, so despite the 5 fewer wins overall they are favored by the odds makers.

#4 Tattered Flag Man of War (86-76) vs #1WC Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow (94-68) - Tattered Flag won the season series 5-4 and have the 2nd ranked offense, but a 10th ranked defense could spell disaster in the post season.
