I just don't get this...

Greisbach and Martin were both better players than McAuliffe at his peak.
What gives?

Detroit didn't have a whole lot of winning seasons when Adolf was playing for them. Maybe if his Tiger teams had been more successful team he'd have gotten a bit more love. Regardless, he has my consideration each vote.

You know, that actually may explain why he doesn't get any love. Considering the era in which he played, he may have gone by a different first name to avoid the obvious reference.

It was tough, I wanted to vote for more and in hind sight, maybe I should have cut a couple of bats to make room for Paul and Schukraft.

Ponfick was my favorite out of the pitchers were available. He the lowest WHIP while pitching over 1000 more innings everyone but Schukraft. #9 in the career win chart and over 2500Ks were also a factor.

But after further review, I see a couple of his best seasons were during war time. Paul also had some juicy war time numbers, but Schukraft was done in '43 so maybe they had a benefit that Schukraft did not enjoy. Paul's 62.5% win percentage is also hard to ignore. And if I were a smarty like John, I'd also be factoring in ball parks a little better. LOL

I still like Ponfick, but I admit that I think Schukraft and Paul should have gotten a vote from me as well. Arg, thanks for keeping me honest Matt. Can I vote for 12 this year? I'll try to be more selective with my batters next year.

I don't think his "descendant" had that in mind, but it was very surreal. I even had concerns about it before ever putting him in the league. I think he just meant he was supposed to be fast (human torch). Or maybe I'm just naive.

Oddly enough, he did serve in the war. That's why he never reached 3000.

Haha, wow, I never noticed that. I'm Jewish, but that's pretty damn funny.

Final Results!

Dutch gets in on the 1st ballot and Paul on his 2nd. Looks like Greisbach and some others actually lost support this year. Fargo gets less than 5% but this was his last year on the ballot anyway. He's headed to the VC next year.

Code:
Carl Kahle	90.48%
Remmy Paul	80.95%
Adolf Greisbach	61.90%
Luke Riley	57.14%
Sunny Davie	52.38%
David McAuliffe	52.38%
Alan Liao	47.62%
Ervin Skjerly	42.86%
Quenton Misisca	42.86%
Troy Kinnear	42.86%
Dave Arkless	38.10%
Mark Ponfick	38.10%
Art Booth	33.33%
Willard Schwarz	28.57%
Harry Finley	23.81%
Jon Minzey	23.81%
Terry Schukraft	23.81%
Ted Stuart	19.05%
Bobby Martin	14.29%
Ricardo Bowden 9.52%
Ned Fargo 4.76%
The following players will fall off the ballot. The year they are eligible for the VC is in parenthesis:

Nasty Ned Fargo (1955)
Jessie Holt (1953)
Ray Dimeo (1954)
Gordon Meadows (1954)
Reggie Woodson (1953)

Yup, the 3 that I added.....there were more, but I stuck to the 3 per generation thing. The 2nd generation of Nagels didn't do as well, though.

Damn, just realized it was done while I was away. Oh well don't think a vote would have mattered for anyone.
