And yes, we all have our bad moods and less-than-best moments. And yes, rich people get bugged (and worse) by other humans. I'm not talking about those scenarios. I'm talking about how you treat a clerk or waitress at a grocery store or coffee shop, when it costs you nothing to be nice. |

Watch this move that Zion Williamson makes at the end of the Pelicans victory over the Suns. A 360-degree dunk! He no longer looks fat to me. How would you like to be able to do this?
![]() https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...part-late-dunk The Suns definitely did NOT like it, however.

You would normally just dribble out the clock. But I will defend Zion here. He seems like a genuinely nice kid and I think he finally feels like after almost 18 months of his body letting him down that he feels good and as good as he did at Duke. Also, the Suns and Chris Paul are some of the fakest tough guys in the league and Paul has been an irritant and a bitch his entire career. Hard to feel bad for them. |

So the Mavericks decided to walk into Chicago without Luka… and they walked out with the Bulls, a team that once had this guy named Michael Jordan on it, setting a team record for most points in a half against them with 82. You know it’s a blowout when Tony Bradley gets in the game.

It was nice during the Cavs vs Kings game to see our old friend Mike Brown at the helm for Sacramento and our old friend Matthew Dellavedova as a player on that team. Dellavedova is one of those guys who will never have to buy a beer whenever he visits Cleveland.
Back when he played for the Cavs one downtown souvenir shop carried a Matthew Dellavedova brand coffee. ![]() I was sad to learn of the death of Grant Wahl. i remember his Sports Illustrated article on LeBron. At the time I never paid attention to any hype regarding upcoming draftees. When the Sports Illustrated article came out it caused a sensation. I remember clearly one afternoon asking a co-worker: "So...this LeBron James kid...is he really THAT good?" My co-worker gave me a long look and said: "Yes...he is."

I feel bad for Pelicans fans because Zion has been struggling to stay healthy. Before he was drafted he was described as the next LeBron James, but he is not nearly as durable as LeBron was in his early years.

That is a high expectation to live up to. But Zion is really good. Like all NBA good. He is also fun to watch, I think it would be in the best interest of all basketball fans for him to stay healthy.

I would have loved to see Zion as an NFL tight end, or Michael Jordan as a 6'5" wide receiver.

Kudos to the NBA for naming the MVP award after Jordan and not LeBron.

I just don't like the comparison because he's not really a Lebron type of player. I'd call him more of Charles Barkley.

Larry Johnson is another good comp. As is Blake Griffin, Griffin became a good shooter with work I don’t ever see Zion becoming a good shooter. But he also shoots 62% and all his shots come at the rim and no one can stop him. He is also a good and creative passer when the Pelicans let him handle the ball. I would have to dig back in time a bit to see if I could find another player who was his size but with his athleticism and being able to finish at the rim. |

Ben Simmons haha but Zion has Barkley issues on defense rather than being a Ben Simmons level defender.

This guy Bol Bol, 7' 2" power forward for the Orlando Magic, is freaky. Watch him do a fancy spin move on his way to the basket. The crowd almost "brought the roof down"!
![]() https://twitter.com/OrlandoMagic/sta...-wembanyama%2F Still in doubt? Watch these moves: https://twitter.com/NBA/status/16013...-wembanyama%2F The son of Manute Bol but rather a runt of the litter. Manute was 7' 7".

Manute also liked to shoot 3s towards the end of his career.
Bol Bol has had a really hard time making it in the modern NBA because I think people look at his body and just think he's going to be another Priest Lauderdale or something, and that actual Manute Bol / Mark Eaton role no longer exists. He's had to establish himself as a legitimate scoring threat in his own right - which TBF he's done this year I think - as well as a guy who can get up and down the floor without slowing the entire game down. It's weird the direction the NBA has taken in the last decade...

Bol Bol is a great story
I really liked him at Oregon. He has injury and foot issues while at Oregon. The Nuggets took a chance on him and drafted him but almost never played him because they are a good team. Esepcially in the front court. He only played 53 games and 238 minutes for Denver. For injury and depth issues He was traded to Detroit but it was voided due to him failing the physical. He was then in a much larger trade and ended up on Boston. He never played for him as he was rehabbing a foot injury. He was flipped to Orlando in February a month after being traded to Boston. It looked him his career may be over and be would be a G-League guy doing 10 days or playing overseas. Then this season happened. I am not sure what he is, but he has a place in the modern NBA. Even if the Magic get good, I think he has a place He is a big who can shoot and rebound and defend the rim. If can stay healthy, then he can stick around for a long while |

I'm surprised that Bol Bol still gets disrespected for his physique, given that the sort of paint-eating brutes who made his father an afterthought are pretty much extinct in the era of "3 and D".
Okay, I might be slightly bitter because the game that fairly wrecked my sports betting career (mentioned in another thread) was the Knicks going into Oakland and whacking the Warriors, with Patrick Ewing basically using his big butt to knock Manute into the 3rd row and putting up 44 points in a game that wasn't even close. But still. (The Warriors also had Ralph Sampson on that team. "The Thin Towers" they were called, in a play on Houston's "Twin Towers" of Ralph and Hakeem Olajuwon. It didn't help.) |
