Because that is the game they want to produce. The are open to suggestions and requests but when it comes down to it they produce the product they want to produce. They know some will not like that and will complain or not buy and apparently they are fine with that. They'll never satisfy everyone and in reality they just need to satisfy themselves as long as they are willing to live with the sales they get.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...56#post4889956 OOTP version 23 stopped recognizing .oi files for logos and uniforms which the majority of default files had previously been. Only the current year logo's were png files on release... so your option was pretty much just the current year's. Dev response in the link. I am going to edit the previous post to avoid confusion. Jersey's were also affected, but I did not bring that up in the thread I was thinking about in the previous post. In 22 and earlier files for jersey's using oi files were recognized, but in 23 you ill not see those files if you try to select them. No Uniform files were .oi in version 23, and your mod (the only uniform mod I use) was all .png files so it really was a non-issue... but it did change. None of this is a big deal, was just strange that it was chalked up to licensing for the logos when they were shipping with the game and all you needed to do was batch change the file extensions.

Yes…there is something strange. I asked developers why the rookie complex leagues don’t have uniforms and was told the reason was licensing? I then asked why they can use the logos then? I never received an answer to the second question.
Clearly though it’s conflicting. |

I won't say I am for developer's making stuff up... but there is a time for just saying "The updated engine doesn't recognize the old file format" and then just delete the old oi stuff and call it a day. May be a fib... but kind of ends any line of questioning with something simple and believable heh.

I bought OOTP23 today just to see if the animation is better than OOTP22.
Yep, it is. Much smoother animation... I know it is a small sample... I played two games out just to see how it was performing in 3D... no outfielders ran through a wall... and I only saw one weird pop fly near home plate. If this ratio holds, this will be much improvement... outfielders running through the right field fence happens in every game I play in OOTP22 at least once... and weird pop flies around home plate happen 5-6 times a game. I used the default camera views that came with the game... I still don't like the dynamic action camera, zooms and camera movements... so I will just create one custom wide camera view and use it on all cameras and live with it. If there is a better way to set it up, I am ignorant of it...and this could be... I may be the problem... I am computer challenged. Is it possible to get realistic camera views in the game that one gets on TV?.... I don't expect it to be like TV, but I would hope it might be a little better than it has been in OOTP22.. the 3D animation is too choppy... it makes one dizzy watching all the camera switches and zooms... that's why I make it simple and just use the Wide View on all my camera views. Not sure about the TV style, I just set all cameras to use the same view. I find it pretty jarring when it flips on me so I just leave it as is Sent from my SM-G998W using Tapatalk |

I somewhat expect to see clipping issues in parks that don’t ship with the game; Silvam14 has done a great job and all but there’s just bound to be some dimension or park location that got missed. It’s fine, I’ll take it out of the salary he gets paid by the community.

Hmmm. I’ve taken great pains to make sure the 3D fence grid lines up with the walls in all of my parks, but the players running through walls issue is not something I can do anything about as it does not have anything to do with that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Much appreciate all of your stadiums, jerseys, logos and graphics that you tirelessly contribute to the OOTP Community. You enable me to really enjoy playing out my games. 3D animation and wonderful-looking logos, jerseys, caps and stadiums provide 50% of my enjoyment in the game. Thanks. |

Thank you. Believe me, I was going nuts thinking it was my fault for a long time. lol The other thing I would like is the ability to spot the outfielders in a starting position for parks like baker bowl, la coliseum and ones with extra shallow fences where the players sit beyond during most plays Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Deeeefinitely don't mean to understate the work you or the other modders do with the game.

I even created all of the 2-d Diagrams and pictures as well as set the ball locations for each even though I never use them in playing the game, so I would need people to report issues with that as well, because I won't see them. cheers
