I mean, guys get hurt and miss time all the time. Not everyone who gets injured suffers a talent hit. IMO if anything talent hits should be *more* random in OOTP and less coupled with injuries. There's a debate we had a week ago or so in another thread about how pitchers in fictional leagues are rarely as great as RL pitchers and I'm fairly convinced that the inevitability of good pitchers getting hurt and then coming back not as good is a huge chunk of that.
