Highly doubt that will happen. It looks like there are still two AAA leagues, just one called AAA-East and one called AAA-West. The will operate like the IL and PCL did, there are 20 teams in the AAA-East League and 10 in the AAA-West League, so I would guess the schedules would be similar to the old ones

They'll probably do schedules similar to how the MLB does it, where you play more games within your division and schedule road trips against the other divisions, but they don't have to worry about the trips across the country like the MLB does.

Off days were rare in the past for the minor leagues. Most seasons that I worked in the Southern League you would have maybe 7 off days over 5 months. And 3 of those would be the All Star Break. |

Well, I think MLB will be regionally re-aligned after the next CBA. Major league players don't like travel, either.

The outcome of the next CBA discussion is going to be ... interesting to say the least.

I have been on board with a major MLB realignment for a long time. There is so much potential for regional/cross-town rivalry squandered. I get the AL/NL traditions, but I don't see it as a huge of a deal anymore.
Chicago - Chicago Stl - KC NY - NY Was - Bal Cle - Cin - Pit LA - Anaheim TB-Mia etc...

I wonder how OOTP22 is going to handle the Minor Leagues for this season. It looks like each level except AAA has three subleagues and up to this point you could only have two subleagues max.
My guess it that each subleague will be their own league. So for AA you'd have Double A Central as one league, Double A Northeast as another and Double A South as a third much like there is an Eastern League, Southern League and Texas League currently. |
