Just looking at the Rangers and noticed.
Jermaine Clark, he's been a defensive replacement in the outfield late in games. Only has played LF to my knowledge, I'd probably give him a C range. Mike Lamb, he has a catcher range, but not a catchers arm. He should probably get a E, maybe a D if he's lucky. Glanville I would say should get a B Range. He's a good centerfielder. Isn't a Torii Hunter out there, but is good. Another thing, why is Jermaine Clark showing up as a MR on the output as well. That looks kind of weird. Reynaldo Garcia, I'd say deserves more than an E endurance. He was a starter all the way coming up through the system until he got to AAA. Plus, after being sent down, they're working him as a starter at AAA currently. Also, not sure how you're handling Rule 5 draftees, but Rontrez Johnson was returned to the Rangers by the Royals a few days ago. Also, Derrick Van Dusen should be on the Indians. He was traded to the Indians in exchange for keeping Marshall McDougal after he was returned to the Indians when sent down due to him being a Rule 5 pick. So Indians should have Van Dusen while the Rangers keep McDougal. That happened on March 16th so it was definately prior to opening day and should be in the set that way. Final Rule 5 concern. John Koronka was returned to Cincinnati. Still trying to find the date, but I'm pretty sure it was before opening day. Also, just wondering, but why do you have Hank Blalock's natural position as 2B? It should still be 3B, I don't see him starting a ton at 2B this year, but rather the occasional start. Teixeira is the primary DH right now and occasional time at 1B & 3B. BTW, no problem if you don't get these in the release tonight, I'll probably do them either way. Lamb without a catchers arm is probably the most important. The rest is really only minor stuff. EDIT: Also forgot to mention, it's nice to see that you included the pitcher from my school that got drafted last draft by the Astros, Chance Douglasss. The ratings look pretty good. I would argue his batting ratings should be raised some. He was not only the most dominant pitcher in the area last high school season, but also the most feared hitter. Demolished the old city record by nearly doubling it with over 20 homers. I would also say he has some leader skills. Anyways, I was surprised to see him added in. Anyways, I look forward to the release of the rosters. Last edited by rangers85; 04-20-2003 at 05:17 PM. |

Thanks GForce. I am looking forward to trying to build the Tigers into a winner. Thanks for all the work on the set.

Just start out with some scrub, trade him several times, and BOOM, you have Sammy Sosa

ok, getting back to work now. The age thing is REALLY frustrating.
Last sim: Clemens goes 12-2 3.11 and gets cut by the Yankees, never resigned Wells ends up 9-4, 3.05, cut by the Yanks and signed by Baltimore Johnson, Schilling and Maddux it seems I've salvaged at least for 2003. The Yanks are probably impacted more financially than anything else. But I don't think I can do more for those guys than I have. GH |

Geforce22, don't spend all night trying to make the age problem perfect. It's not the worst thing if those players get cut, especially if it allows for a quick release of the rosters

heheh... I know Crusher. I just strive for realism, and these guys getting cut isn't realistic. I fixed some of them, but others it seems it's out of my hands. Right now my biggest thing is making more park adjustments for certain guys.
Ya gotta love the variation in this game though. Sometimes, a guy just has a fluke year. In the sims, usually he's a backup, no big deal. One year Damon Minor just went nuts. One year, Nomar was terrible. Just stuff happens that could happen, and does happen for real. Something else that makes the game great. GH |

Just to help out a bit...
Lou Pote was released on 1/31 by the Angels. Sal Fasano was released on 11/5 by the Angels. Mike Jackson was released on 3/29 by the D'Backs. Paul Abbott was placed on the 15 day DL 3/19.

I wouldn't worry about the aging problem to be honest. Most of us understand that the aging in the game is flawed and I don't think anyone expects you to be responsible for that. Maybe that is something you could work on as a side project the next few weeks or something. But honestly I don't think there is anything you can do except giving those guys an extra boost so they don't get cut.

And G said the set will be out about 11:30. Hey, he said April 20th and he's delivering, even if it is last minute - it's still considered April 20th

GForce:
I have some terribly minor changes for the Reds. Feel free to ignore, as they do not affect much: Wilton Guerrero is a switch-hitter Felipe Crespo, Jacob Cruz, and Mark Watson are all Reds, not FA. Again, all minor changes, I can make them myself if need be. Oh, I didn't see Ryan Freel anywhere, but I understand if you left him off. He's not a TOP prosepct, I guess, more of a AAAA guy. |
