A versatile performer, Lillard pitched, and had a record of 35-26 in the minors. His contract was owned by the St. Louis Cardinals. David Cone was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 3rd round (74th overall) of the 1981 Amateur Draft. Lefty Gomez was signed to a professional contract in 1927 by the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League.
