The former CBL division rivals face off in the semifinals. Harbin wins game 1 from an Otani gem, but on his next start, he was outdueled by Cao Guanqin.

Semis: Tianjin vs Beijing Dragons
Tianjin had a 2-0 Series lead over the rival Dragons, but Beijing forced a game 5. Tianjin would win game 5 and will play Urumqi in the finals.

Finals: Urumqi vs Tianjin


Tianjin wins the Ming Tournament, who finished 3rd in the Ming League.

Tianjin Lions vs Guangzhou Flyers
Game 1

The Lions had a 3-1 lead heading to the 9th, but closer Gou Lixu allowed a walk to Yamada and a 2 run HR to Yun Keji, tying the game. The game went to extras where in BOT 11th, Lions pitcher Li reached on a Zhuge (P) error. With the bases loaded Masahiro Shimizu walks scoring the winning run.
Game 2

Lions starter Yeung Lee Hang was pitching for a complete game shutout unitl the RBI double by Xuan puts the Flyers on the board. Yeung left the game with 2 outs and reliver Gou Lixu gets the final out by striking out Yun Keji to advance to the Quarterfinals eliminating the Emperor's Cup champion from last year.
Urumqi vs Chongqing
Game 1

In Chonqing, the game was scorless until a thowing error at CF in TOP 6th. Sadahige Shimada hits a 3 run home run making the score 4-0. In TOP 8th, Urumqi added 4 more runs. Haruki Suzuki's home run and RBI Single are the only runs for Chongqing.
Game 2

With Urumqi leading 4-3 heading to the 9th, Munenori Omori hits a game tying home run, but Urumqi wins the game on a walk off Walk! by Pan Mingfeng in BOT 10th. Urumqi to face Tianjin in the Quarterfinals, a remach of the Ming Tournament finals.

With Harbin leading 3-0 Guiyang scored 5 unanswered runs off Otani to knock off Harbin who finished 1st in the Ming League regular season.

The Lions will play against Chengdu by beating Urumqi again in the Quarterfinals.

The Leopards had a 4-0 lead heading to the 7th, but Guiyang scored 6 runs in TOP 7th with a RBI single, Grand Slam by Yang Jiahao, and a Kato solo Home Run. The Leopards retook the lead in BOT 7th, scoring 3 runs. In TOP 8th, Guiyang tied the game again. The game went to extras where in the 13th, Kazuhiko Noda hits a 2 run Home run.
Game 2

The game was scoreless until the 8th, when Guiyang scored the first run of the ballgame on a Zhang Zefa RBI single. The Leopards tied the game on a Ying RBI double and a 2 run Home run by Pei Yicai gives the Leopards the lead and the win. The series is tied 1-1 as the teams head to Guiyang.
Game 3

A slugfest in Guiyang, The Leopards had a 8-0 lead early. Guiyang tried to come back , but the Leopards hold off the rally.
Game 4

The Leopards blow another lead in this series, as they were leading 3-0, then 3-2 after 3 innnings.
Game 5

Yang Jiahao hit a 2 run home run in the 9th helping Guiyang advance to the Emperor's Cup Final.

Game 1

Sha Nanming hits a walk off home run in the 9th after Chengdu rallied to tie the game.
Game 2

Another low scoring game, this time going to extras. Hayagawa broke the tie in TOP 13th on an RBI single.
Game 3

Early in this game, Chengdu open the game with a 5-1 lead. The Lions tried to come back.
Game 4

Li Anbei pitched 8 shutout innings. The only run in the ballgame was Kou Caixi RBI single.
Game 5

Yeung Lee Hang pitched a gem, and the Lions offence backed him up. The win sends the Lions to the Emperor's Cup final against Guiyang.

Game 1

This game shows that even the best pitchers in the league can struggle. Li Anbei of Tianjin allowed 6 runs 5 earned to Xia League Guiyang the most since Jun 13 against the Dragons.
Game 2

Cheung pitched well, allowing only 1 run in 7 innings.
Game 3

A 7 run 7 inning by Guiyang would help win it. Only one more win before Guiyang wins the Emperor's Cup.
Game 4

Harbin starter Yamazawa pitched well this game, allowing only 1 run in 6 innings. Saito and Bei both hit home runs helping Harbin move to the Loser's Semifinals.


In Guiyang, Guangzhou's Yamahata also had a nice game (6 IP 3 H 1 ER 1 BB 2 K). The hitting was just enough to knock out the Emperor's Cup champion out of the tournament.

Winner's Finals


Nguyen shuts out the Eagles, allowing 4 hits striking out 10 and 1 walk. It was 1 out short of a complete game, as releiver Xi Handong gets the final out (Batter Xiong Yijun, Flyout to Teng Guoyi). The game opened up in the 8th with a 5 run inning by Changsha.

Loser's Semifinals


The game remained tied at 2-2 until the 10th, with a walk off triple by Sima Jiuming.

Harbin had a 2-1 lead heading into the 8th, but Ao Jiulong hit Nguyen Tran Cuong with the pitch. Nguyen's countryman, Pham Tran hits the go ahead 2 run Home Run to send the Eagles to the Grand Final where they face Changsha again.
