You just find a famous person, landmark and so on, examples of the names I gave some teams in my baseball league were, Digby Scallops - Digby is famous for scallops, Elko Trappers - first people to use the land where Elko is were fur trappers, San Francisco Missions - oldest building in San Fran is the mission.

Its true, actualy. Most of the most famous pirates were English as it was unofficial British policy to allow English privateers to loot and sink Spanish galleons that the Royal Navy couldnt have done itself.

I could think of a couple more colorful nicknames for San Fran teams.

I was almost entirely joking...personally Id think it might be easier to find another nickname for Athens than Kyiv unless youve already settled on Angles...but whatever you pick doesnt matter much to me.

I've tried to do that, but none of them I make that way ever seem to click in my mind.

I haven't settled on anything. I just thought I'd ask some more imaginative people for ideas.

If there is a good name for the Athens team, then I'll change that instead. I don't know any off-hand, but fire away.

Yes, they've been on a long off-season break.

But no, it's about someone that annoyed your friend Hageneezz.

Bui, thanks for the touching song about my hometown. It really tugged on my heartstrings.

It's actually cleaned up a lot.

How about Athens Angels of Greece?
