Congrats to all the OL series winners!
I slipped past a superior team in the D361 WCS to head to the next stage, but I'm up against another deep team who won our season series 11-8 with my 4th starter in game 1 and some bullpen fatigue against a fresh team. I don't like my odds, but hope springs eternal. Will know how it turns out in about an hour... Edit: Squeaked through the DS 3 games to 2 to advance to round 3 and a match up with the Columbus Evil Squirrels, who took our season series 5-1. It's been uphill all the way so far, and it's getting steeper... Edit: Made a good run, but the Squirrels were too much for the Bakemonotachi. They took the CS 4-2, and will proceed to the Series.

Bushwood Mediocre Again in OL Gold League
After another sub par campaign in the Gold League, hitting coach Ty Webb weighed in.

2031 Set Up
Except for Aomori, carrying the OL banner in their quest for Perfect, all team movement is set for next season. Feel free to perform Friends List maintenance. We still have OL teams alive in all levels except Stone and Rookie, where New Zealand fell in the wild card round. Good luck to those still playing. We'll have five crown chases next season.
Diamond - Mount Hawke, Port Ruppert, North Bay, Los Angeles Gold - Waffletown, Madder Do Ees, Bushwood, Greenland, Auckland, Baltimore, New York, Claptown Silver - Columbia, Wilmington, Doug, Waxhaw, Colorado Springs, Shinbone, Aceldama Bronze - Daytona Beach, Grovers Mill, Coney Island, Bruno, Terra Incognita, Savannah, Brooklyn, Holy City, SaukCentre Iron - Bordeaux, Fort Davis, Belo Horizonte, Long Beach, Eden Prairie Stone - Card Era, Austin Rookie - New Zealand Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 07-10-2022 at 05:30 PM. |

[QUOTE=da commish;4918567]SaukCentre is staying in Bronze[/QUOTE
Thanks. I was just coming back to fix that. I noticed my mistake when I was making sure they were on Terra Incognita's Friends List. |

Aomori fell in the CS, and will be remaining in diamond for at least another week. Can't get rid of me that easily. :-)

PT Playoffs
Baltimore in Silver, Aceldama in Bronze, and Holy City in Iron are all in their respective World Series.

What a Suprise!
The Aceldama Butchers, who had their first winning season since PT 19 (okay, so they moved to Asylum and were the Keepers for 21 & 22), squeaked into the wild card series, where upon they began an improbable run. They capped that run with a 4-2 World Series win over a team that bested them by 14 games during the regular season. After eight straight losing seasons, one more than the Miracle Mets of 1969, they finally shook off the loser label.
The team still hasn't finished higher than third, however. They seemed to have been cursed by good pack luck for their entry league roster, which led to their promotion directly to Bronze, where they have languished, without even a sniff of mediocrity, stalled by low point earnings, meager tournament packs, and fairly dismal pack luck. They did however, reward their fans by twice catching lightning in a bottle and taking two OL crowns along the way. It would probably be wise for their faithful to relish this unexpected success, for it is expected that their stay in Silver will be brief. Aceldama was also the only OL team to reap PT rewards in 2030. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 07-10-2022 at 10:43 PM. |

Almost but not quiet....
Both unexpected and next to impossible, the Baltimore Barons (10th place in Wins) pulled off a 2-1 wildcard series followed by a 3-0 division series to place in the Top Four. They then forced the league championship series to 7 games, winning the last game 3-2 with two runs in the 9th inning.
So the World Series consists of the Baltimore Barons (84-79 Wildcard) versus the Tantooine Sith Lords (105-57). Covering my eyes... Suprisingly, I pushed the World Series to 6 games even though I lost. Given how I ended the season at 84-79, however, I'm very satisfied with the post season. I ended up 11-8 in playoff games, AND will be going back to GOLD which I did not expect As always, the issue will be how long I can stay.

League Set Up for Diamond, Silver, Bronze
Here's Diamond, Silver, and Bronze. A quick look at the Universe screen seems to show that we got everybody. You are urged, hiowever, based on my past pronouncements, to wait for Jason to confirm. I can probably handle Silver, but will be the "Catcher in Rye" for all three if we need it. Good luck to all.

OL Silver 271
Each team played one series. A peek ahead shows that each team will have at least 15 games for the OL season. No team currently in relegation zone.
