Looking toward next season
So it seems very likely that three OL teams will move from bronze to silver next season. In bronze, all playoff teams will advance and all non-playoff teams will not. According to the "Pennant Chase" info the least likely of those three teams to make playoffs are my Southpaws --- though they are still listed as 98% probability, and no other BUT those three have any realistic chance of making playoffs.
I notice that there are three OL teams in silver, so depending on what they do, next season might be the first OL championship in silver this year (five teams would guarantee a champion, with four teams it depends on schedules). So, just curious, what are the prospects for the silver teams this year... are they likely to stay put; move up; or move back? Also, I notice that two of the teams are in Silver.278 (Paxville and Texarkana) while one is in Silver.272 (Otsego Lake Monsters) for some reason.

We will still be messed up next season because it sounds like the friends list won't be fixed until at least Monday.
Right now Texarkana and Paxville are both well in the promotion zone, so they will both probably be in gold next season.

Reds Poised to Capture Crown in OL B235
With six games left to play, all at home, against Cleveland and Sugar Hill , Cedar Rapids' magic number is down to four to seize the championship in OL B235. Cary is the one team that has an outside chance, but all seven of their remaining contests are on the road against the Nowhere Men and the Commodores.
It does seem that OL might get a bit fractured with next patch not due until Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully, it doesn't get missed. |

The hottest OL teams since the latest update have been the Keystone Kops and the Gettysburg Bullets. That said, the OL race seems to be a close one between the Algoma Penguins with a lot of OL games coming up (16!) and the Boston Red Sox who have fewer OL games (7) with which to make up ground on the Penguins.
In non-OL news the Baltimore Barons, Gettysburg Bullets, Boston Red Sox and Algoma Penguins are all cruising to the playoffs. The Shinbone Stars and New York Patriots still have a chance to get into a wildcard slot. Division leaders Barons, Red Sox, and Patriots will be promoted to Iron as well as any wildcard winner. Right now none of the OL teams will be demoted. Last edited by Quinta; 05-01-2021 at 09:03 AM. |

Annandale has been cruising this season, but only because improvements have been difficult to acquire. I am still searching for that elusive pack luck... has anyone seen mine somewhere?
Been trying to complete the last few live missions I have outstanding but anyone who has completed them knows how difficult the last few teams turn out to be. The influx of new live cards this week hasn’t provided a ton of relief. It’ll happen soon though, but it is a bit frustrating feeling like you’re thiiiis close yet you can’t get there. |

Tight at the Top in Rookie
Annandale returned to a share of the lead...by doing nothing. With no OL games since our last report, the Atom Smashers sat by and watched the rest of the league beat up on each other. The season's final month should be a wild one.
Annandale has 9 OL games remaining, including a 3-game set against co-leader HelthWyzer. Meanwhile the Crakes have 19 OL games on the docket, highlighted by their matchup with Annandale. Boulder City only has 6 OL games left, but half are against dark horse Lemp Ave. The Perfectos have 13 OL games remaining, and have come back before in a season's final month to gain the title. Six of the 8 playoff spots in I202 belong to OL teams and no OL teams will be relegated. |

Gear Terrace captures the title in OL R78. With a month to go, the magic number is 0 for the Warriors. Gear Terrace will also be the only OL team to advance from R78.

Well, I'm off to a wedding today (niece) so Perfect Team will just have to do without me lol. Besides, logic told me that with two teams likely in the playoffs and one certainly to be relegated, there isn't much urgency in the last month of the season.
Good luck to all, and I'll be back tomorrow (depending)

We just picked up Silver King and Jason Isringhausen for a boost in the final weeks of the season. Allowed us to get Donovan Osborne into middle relief. Hopefully it will go to the wire! |

In an attempt to improve their 12th place in NC bullpen, the Reds have resorted to spending big (completing the silver and gold missions) and welcome 98 Joe Nathan to the organization. Time to see what 141 Stuff can do.

Looks like Cary is having a division title fight go right down to the wire. Good luck in those last games.

The entry pool this week has been kind to me. Just trying to complete Live Missions to get Gold Packs and SE cards. Here is another Diamond hit out of a standard pack from a Build a Legend Tom Glavine reward.

Well at least one OL team will make it to a Bronze 235 sub-league series. Good luck to Cary in our series tomorrow.

Cedar Rapids Runs Roughshod in OL B235
The Reds closed out the season in a rush to capture the OL B235 crown for 2025, sweeping their way through six September games, leaving no doubt they were the top team. Their three main chasers, Cary, Waffletown, and Nowhere all posted solid numbers, but not strong enough to challenge the juggernaut at the top.
In PT, Cary and Cedar Rapids will face off in the NC divisional round, while Waffletown battles from the AC, so an OL World Series is possible. In terms of promotion and relegation, the three playoff teams will be going to silver, hopefully together, while Cleveland will be headed to iron, running into OL friends, we also hope. I have reached out to Jobu with entreaties to intervene so that OOTP does not forget to fix the red-headed stepchild that is the friends list. If you have been seeking pack help, he might be less attentive, as he tries to ensure the fix doesn't get skipped. Good luck and congratulations to all. |

Just venting, but I've been so busy with work that the Master Series registration somehow passed me by, and I'm GUTTED. It's gonna bug me for months...
Anyway... Congrats to the OL winners this week, good luck to the playoff teams, and I really hope (though highly doubt) that Paxville will get to play a 7 game set against the Tornadoes!

A Word About Hardware
There will be delay in the posting of crowns and other hardware on the forum today because I am in hospital (so British, no?), hopefully being discharged today. I had a supposed out-patient gall bladder removal on Thursday, but a minor complication created a need for clean up on aisle bile duct on Friday and got me a room with a view. All is going well and I am suspecting I'll be discharged today, but the timing may affect my ability to post. I got my son to load OOTP onto my laptop, but forgot to ask him to also put in my files and graphics program. I am surprised at how little pain I am experiencing, consider the pre-operative cautions thrown my way by others, including the medicos. Haven't needed anything stronger than tylenol to keep the discomfort quite minor. Sorry for the gory details, but it seemed an explanation was better that just saying something came up.
On the team front, the additions to the Mundys did not create the firepower hoped for. Roy Sievers was solid, but Socks Seybold suffered through rookie jitters and struggled. The Port Ruppert brain trust still has expressed confidence in him and GM Ulysses Fairsmith held a presser to announce that the Mundys had prevailed in a prolonged bidding war to add Daryl Kile to the rotation for 2026. On the field,Tommy Greene paced the pitchers with a 15-7 mark, while Max Lanier chipped in at 14-9. The offense was highlighted by Frank Baker's return to the 20-20 club. He had entered the last two Septembers with 17 and 19 homers, respectively, and stalled on those numbers. He has never slipped below 30 steals in any year, and swiped a personal record 44 this year. He batted .319 with 84 RBI, so perhaps he might be in line for some post season honors. Only 10 packs to open later, but given those I have the past two days, I'm not gonna miss much.
