I cannot fathom what it's like to have six figures in PP. Most I've had was somewhere close to 50-80K & felt the possibilities were endless. I hit a little over 30K this year & was pretty happy with that accomplishment

it'd dumbfounding, but awesome, how you guys do it.

My 21 team might be getting close after ignoring them for the last few months.

Prior to this edition I think the most I've ever had was maybe 40k, and that was earned over a long time. With the tournaments it feels like a bonus, because I'm not wasting PP on packs and I get to sell off things in the packs to get more PP. I blame DRC and QuantaCondor. It was that interview that got me going down this rabbit hole. I've avoided the AH speculation stuff that folks do though. Tournaments are enough. I also have the benefit of working from home, which I've been doing for almost a decade now, so I can have OOTP running in the background and keeping teams in tournaments pretty regularly.

heh.... anytime I get 20-30K, it starts to burn a hole in my war chest and I start scanning the AH for any super deals (or look through missions to see if there are any cheap cards to knock some of those out)....

got up to about 60K this version for my high point (before buying Tommy Bridges off the AH)... packs from tourneys and the 5 twitch packs a day definitely help with the points as well, even if they only return mostly iron/bronze cards... those sales start to add up...

now just letting the funds build up again.... team is playing well so far, so no reason to rush for any new players

In my case it's called "Waiting for Willie." For the first time ever, I have accumulated a bunch of PP, because I've decided that once Willie Mays finally shows up, I've gotta have it. I'm trying not to hamstring my team by spending up to 25% on my cache if I see something as I'm window shopping in the AH. Since I'm not that interested in using the special editions, either because I don't have an attachment to them or I've had them in past versions of PT, I haven't spent a lot of PP acquiring cards. I have nothing against the cards themselves, or their use and, in fact, I am using Carl Hubbell, whom I tried to get, and might use one or two of the others, like Al Brazle or Denny Neagle.

I have acquired a few of the others as my card collection from opening packs has grown and I have question. Is it okay to sell off those I don't want or is it possible they will end up as part of some collection down the road? I don't think they will, but I wonder if anyone knows for sure.

I might have to expand the Reds theme to players from mid-America teams as I've pulled Frankie Frisch for the 2nd time, and I don't think I'm going to be willing to part with him a 2nd time.

the Live mission reward SE cards? Pretty sure those will be part of the build-a-legend process, so if you plan to do those missions you might want to hold onto the SE cards obtained from the Live missions

right now I'm running with a just-sell-duplicates-already-in-missions, and keep everything else (including duplicates of cards that show 0 missions... figure if they do end up in a future mission, their value should skyrocket as usual).... the only other exception is since I've completed all the Live missions, I do sell off any Live Gold or higher to boost the war chest

I was wondering if anyone would want me to do the standings for Stone 186 tomorrow. There are 9 OL teams, including the three best records in the NC (led by the Baltimore Barons). I do not think I have seen standings for this league yet.

I could do that , and use the Red Hat shadowman logo for the team logo. It would fit with my day job since I work there.

picked up a few packs for reaching the semi-finals of a 32 team silver tourney.... debated on whether to wait and try to get some more packs to open a bunch at once, but I don't have that kind of patience

first two packs were the usual iron quintet featuring token bronze.... the 3rd pack had a nice glowing blue card emerge.... historic diamond at that

94 - Jumbo Elliott

gonna give him a shot in the bullpen (sending Tippy Martinez to the reserves to make room).... now have to either find or make a facegen for him as he doesn't appear to have one in my current file

Having a hard time with the 2nd part & not much on the horizon without a little luck.

"waiting for willie". love it. that's probably the way to do it. I thought I had some good tourney teams but they earn nothing compared to some of you guys. back to the drawing board.

I wasn't aware of daily tournaments until not too long ago. I usually get locked in early just to be bounced earlier. not sure about them.

I do believe the mission rewards will be required for something in the near future.

again, same. I started PT for the first time late last year & did about everything you can do wrong. not this year (hopefully).

A couple of moves the Nowhere Men have made was to bring up both Tex Hughson & Tom Glavine to gain experience & later (hopefully) become a diamond Lucy would be proud of. Internal discussions to promote a young Pedro Guerroro for his versatility are also ongoing.

A cloud of uncertainty hovers above their performance in the higher levels.

With the well almost dry, Nowhere did manage to sign Ray Brown from the Negro Leagues out of boredom & for his ability to pitch and/or give a breather in CF.

Reds Remain on Top in OL B235

Cedar Rapids rolled at a solid 6-3 pace, but saw Cary creep closer on the strength of the Southpaws 8-2 showing. Waffletown remained on the sidelines and held onto third.

Sugar Hill has welcomed Roy White to the team. Roy will take over left field allowing Red Murray to move to his natural right field position. Overall outfield defense improves and Roy should provide more offense than Ben Paschal, who has been released. Roy was the first ballplayer I ever met as a kid so I have a sentimental attachment to him.

Sugar Hill has placed a couple of other bids just over the starting bid, while not overly optimistic of winning either I made my best and final and wont over pay. I also need funds available for the say hey kid whenever his card drops. Looks like Stanley and I will be in a bidding war

Mundys Make Early Season Changes

After last Saturday's mind numbing 100+ pack opening, the Port Ruppert brass decided that, time permitting, the Mundys would participate in the "draft" whenever packs got into the 20-30 range. Yesterday afternoon proved very productive, with an OL diamond and gold, both duplicates and sold and a 100 Tatis Jr, which netted just north of 22,000.

Owner Glorious Mundy IV, then increased Gm Ulysses Fairsmith's budget, and the venerable gent wasted little time in signing William "Brickyard" Kennedy for the rotation and Ralph "Socks" Seybold to bolster the line-up at DH and spelling Harry Hooper in right.

Greetings from Annandale. Hi continue to marvel at the great polls you guys get from packs. I have been earning a decent number of packs for sure, but I have yet to pull a historical perfect from any pack anywhere this year. Someday!

I’m not sure if something was in the water last month but we had a great month, and even won something like 17 games in a row at one point. Is obviously due to my managerial genius!

I have been trying my hand at the silver tournament game and have been finding it tough to crack into the top-tier there. Funny enough, I’m actually downloading and “analyzing” the data and yet my team is not that good. Maybe I should adapt my usual strategy of looking at successful teams and just copying them! One negative aspect of running silver tournaments is that it takes them a while to fire off compared to bronze level. So if you don’t do that well you spend a little bit of time waiting for the next tournament to go.
