Heads up: check your tourney teams twice.

Pretty sure I cleaned one up this morning to check now & find it still a mess.

The Red Sox did not win any hardware last season but still had a good go of it. Happy to see we're in Stone 186 with 8 other OL teams. The Shinbone Stars OL are in my division, and there's also a "Castrodelphia" team with the suffix DCFC. One other team in our league also has the DCFC moniker. Anyone know what DCFC is?

Paxville are OL for the duration, and I really like that there're a bunch of different methods going on. But a packs league would also be very appealing. Maybe next year, 'cause I'm definitely only running 1 team this year.

I am late to the OOTP 22 party.

The Asheboro Road Dogs will once gain be in Our League.

I have just created the team and am in the entry pool. Should have plenty of time to get compliant.

welcome back! sheet updated.... here's hoping they get the patch out to fix the 'add/remove' friend column in the game so we can all update things again and keep everyone together

Cedar Rapids Romps to Front in OL B235

The Reds got off to a perfect start in somewhat muted action in OL in April. They are being tracked closely by what has become the holy trinity of OL in PT 22, i.e. Waffletown, Cary, and Nowhere.

Port Ruppert Inks Free Agenet Sievers

Hoping to add some power into the line-up, the Mundys came to terms with free agent first baseman Roy Sievers. Steve Bilko was optioned to the Aceldama Butchers to make room. The signing came after prolonged negotiations (Read: When I first saw him while window shopping the AH, I made a mental note to buy the card later, but forgot. Had to wait several more days before he showed up again. I also think he was about 1,000-1,500 more expensive as well. Ah well, fun in senior living).

Baltimore showing some early promise as they post a 17-10 start to the 2025 season. New team members J.Rigney (1.69 ERA) and R.Campanella (.338 BA) earning their pay, but C.Carrasquel (.200 ERA) is struggling. OL Record is 8-6.

If April's results are any indication, it's clear the newly branded Commodores should not have been promoted to Bronze this season. The starting staff has posted a terrible month and I can't say much better for the lineup. This already looks like a good year for relegation. OL record is 2-4.

Gettysburg is holding their own at the moment with a 13-13 record. Newcomer Will White is still trying to find his post-winter form, and N.Garciaparra and Minnie Monoso are doing their jobs. OL record is 4-7.

Rookie

Gear Terrace out to the early lead while others struggle. A quick check of the future schedule shows that the Tortugas may not have enough games to qualify for the title.

The Iron Way-too-early report

Just getting started in Iron and Silly Mad has the lead, but a host of others are waiting for the OL schedule to heat up.

I think about the only thing I have to look forward to is the subway series. Today Coney Island travels to the Bronx to take on Sugar Hill in a three game set. In September the teams play four in Coney Island. Lifetime Coney Island has won 3 of the 4.

Otherwise, I think this will be a forgettable season. This is the hardest part of PT-while I setup my team the best way possible, I am rooting for Sugar Hill to get demoted. I should never be wanting my team to lose.

Some thoughts regarding logo/team jerseys/hats issues.... I recently did a redesign of the Waffletown jerseys and hat, but found that it kept defaulting back to the old ones no matter how many times I updated them/uploaded in pt/submitted the team/etc...

Then it hit me that I had them saved as “jersey_waffletown_syrups”... “jersey_waffletown_syrups_away”... etc.... but the team name in PT is actually Waffletown Syrups-OL...

So I updated the names in the jerseys, ball caps, and logos folders with the -OL at the end.... now my new cap/jerseys are loading correctly.... so if you are still having issues with your logos/etc, check that little mundane detail and make sure your OL tag is there as well.

Do you mean that you have them saved in the documents, OOTP 22 folder, logos, for example? I didn't think PT graphics were kept there. I thought they were only on the servers.

right, those folders (typically for solo play logos/jerseys/etc).... maybe it was just a coincidence that things started loading right as far as the hat/jersey after I made that tweak, but I'm just gonna roll with it

Well, after I decided that despite the LabRats trying to be Reds Themed team I wasn't going to go out of my way to acquire the Pete Rose BaL card, I got one in a pack over the weekend. Figuring it was Karma, I went ahead and upgraded it to Silver and he is currently on the roster.

After playing very casually in 19 and 20 (never got around to purchasing 21) I seem to be more involved with 22. Since I didn't want to dump money into the game beyond the initial purchase, I decided my strategy was going to be tournaments to generate packs. This is also my first edition where I've dipped my toes into the tournaments and I've gone a bit overboard, but it seems to be paying off in packs which in turn drive selling cards on the AH, or adding pieces to the teams. Most of my focus so far has been on the tournaments teams, so I need to start spending more time on the league teams.

Texarkana 1st: 27 2nd: 20 3/4th: 26 (377 tournaments | 418 packs | 1.11 packs/tourn)
Cedar Rapids 1st: 19 2nd: 19 3/4th: 29 (371 tournaments | 350 packs | 0.94 packs/tourn)

State of the Franchise: Texarkana

Packs to open:26
PP balance: 214k

Unlike Chandler (now in BFF) which benefited from an early pull of 100 Frankie Frisch which grabbed 200k on the AH and set them on their way, Texarkana did manage to sell a NL card early on that got them 30k plus some live 100s in the low 20k range. They did pull a Brooks Robinson who has been holding down 3B for the time being. Watching the AH the card(s) I have seen up there haven't been moving and his price has been dropped to the 125k range. Texarkana did finally finish the Live missions, stomaching the costs of finishing off LAD, CLE, and OAK figuring the value of the cards from the chained rewards of completing everything would be better than what I would get spending that money in the AH. Completing the live missions was another first for us this year. I haven't come up with a theme for them yet, so currently they are a mix of whatever lands into the roster from missions and packs.

Current Rotation: Young, Verlander, Sutton, Langston, Mendez

Current lineup:
C R. Campanella
1B N. Garciaparra
2B A. Kennedy
3B B. Robinson
SS A. Trammell
LF H. Wilson
CF C. Milan
RF E. Slaughter
DH T. Cobb

State of the Franchise: Cedar Rapids

Packs to open: 15
PP Balance: 172k

An early 100 Acuna pull generated 30k PP, which allowed them to get a jump on the live missions though they ended up being the last of my 3 teams to complete them. There have been some other live 100 pulls that continue to bring in the low 20k range. Probably the best pull was a gold NL which sold for around 50k when they first dropped. I will probably turn CR into a Reds theme team, and try to pull in cards like Larkin who actually play a ball for the team when it was the affiliate in the 80s.

Rotation: C Young, Varlander, Langston, Sutton, Pfeffer

Lineup:
C R. Campanella
1B N. Garciaparra
2B A. Kennedy
3B T. Pendleton
SS A. Trammell
LF J. Dehlanty
CF H. Wilson
RF E. Slaughter
DH Richie Hebner

So in both cases, they are largely fielding teams comprised of the Live mission rewards while I'm off chasing packs in the bronze tournaments. Both teams seem to be off to a decent start this season, while Chandler finally ran into a brick wall in gold for the first month.

I should add a decent amount of my time has been dealing with data collection on the bronze tournaments since I'm leaning on observed statistics, and trying to automate as much of that as I can to avoid human error and keep the boredom of pulling data in check. Initially working in excel I've moved to using a collection of scripts and the Pandas data analysis library in python.

No luck. From the customize screen, I loaded in my logo from the OOTP logos folder. Hit OK, then submit team to save it. Clicked on the team home screen and it was already gone, setting a new record. I give up. I'll try it once in awhile and maybe someday it'll stick.
