My favorite, too this day, was, I think a slight glitch, but I love it still.

My Japanese import second baseman, no last name, only a first name.

Kentaro?

The question mark was included. I cracked up every time I said it out loud (I was playing with a friend, I'm not that weird.)

I saw Bob Cobb once. Also saw a #1 draft pick named Nathan Jessup (had to nickname him "The Colonel") and the #3 pick that same year was named Jack Black.

I'd have had to make his nickname "Tenacious".

Colonel is the best nickname for him, yes, but so many anouncing jokes could be had.

"And there's a long drive...that's a code red!!!"

"Jessup is the best player in the game today. Is that clear? Crystal..."

"Jessup to his left...and I have neither the time nor the inclination to tell you what happened."

No really, don't. You're better off not knowing the joke.

"Did you hit that homerun?"
"I did the job you sent me to do."
"Did you hit that homerun?"
"You're g*dd*mn right I did!"

"You want the slider?"
"I think I'm entitled to one."
"You want the slider?!"
"I want the slider."
"You can't handle the slider!" ... And nobody moves.

"Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me in that lineup. You need me there."

Out of my lastest fake name league:

Tracy Dicks, Harry Dorr, Richard Flagg (Wasn't he the bad guy in The Stand?), Juan Groh (I can see him doing lawn care products), Harry Haas, Willie Loo (don't ask).

Juan Groh will make your Lawn Grow.

It's Randall Flagg, I think.

In one of my solo leagues, I let the computer run the intial draft for me. I had a kid in A-ball , L. Johnson, who didn't look like he was going to be much. I was right. After a month or two of the season, I opened up his player profile and realized his first name was Long. I swear. I kept him at A-ball until he retired.
