Roughly a quarter of players in the Majors would be 40 PVs.
Actually, this specific issue pops up every few releases, and is usually fixed pretty quickly. I've only been playing for like 22 years, so could be I'm mistaken.

You know, you can see how old my account is. Shows it right under the picture, but please, go on.

I am, actually. Every other murderer, rapist, racist, wife beater, etc is in the game, so Wander should be too. I don't care if he was a 9/11 pilot. If he was in the game, he should be in this game. Doesn't matter, I'll just import him. Bauer's current ability doesn't matter. He's still playing, and definitely not retired.

The 2 game series between Cubs and Dodgers on March 18, 19 was played at Wrigley Field rather than at some park in Japan.

This mostly just cracked me up because of our earlier discussion. To this point, I've been messing around with GM-only features. In the *very first game* I simmed, Garrett Whitlock entered as the closer, promptly allowed runners on 2nd and 3rd, then balked in the game-tying run.

Update: Another run scored. In the bottom of the inning, Justin Martinez walked 4 straight (one intentionally) then coughed up a walkoff sac fly.

What are the odds!

New draft page is really nice... much easier not having to click back and forth now between the mock draft and the player pool

Drive for the Pennant & Historical ball parks

Update:
NEVERMIND!!!! I realized this is a problem with downloading the historic ballparks from Steam, not a problem with OOTP 26 or its Drive for the Pennant historical mode. Please ignore this post!

Original post:
Hello, I started a Drive for the Pennant game using the 1976 season. I have installed historical ball parks via Steam, but the DFP game doesn't seem to recognize them, hence most games are shown in the default stadium. Any chance this can be fixed?

Loving the game so far! The new draft screen is super helpful and even though it took some adjusting to, the fact that info like personality isn't immediately visible adds a good challenge. I used to just go best player available and filter out the traits I didn't want in my org, that change really brings me in to the pre-draft scouting!

I'm not much of a PT player. I mess around with it for a bit. My favorite data is the individual card PP earnings which are hidden in "history." Would be cool to sneak that onto the main player page or else produce a report showing lifetime and current PP of all active players. I use that to determine who gets demoted or bumped from a role.

Not enough to complain about, mind you, I just take it as one of those things that's more video-gamey than reality.

I think where it's most noticeable is with large leads. The number of eight+ run leads that change in the ninth inning in a given season can usually be counted on one finger, and that's leaguewide. Run a 10-year sim, and most teams should experience between 0-1 instances of a lead change of this magnitude. My experience with OOTP is it's more like 2-3 times a year per (human) team.

I do think it probably has to do with gaming mechanics like Sparkplug. I don't know if there's a momentum mechanic in there somewhere, but maybe that can run away sometimes.

This is all an observation, not a criticism.
Have played OOTP, with latest versions, extensively the last two real-life years, and have not observed this reported tendency in either online or offline play.

Hello.
I am loving this version.
One issue for me as I play 1 pitch mode....When I play as home team I click on the green circle under the bullpen and I always get the career stats of that baserunner on first base.

Also.....how do i set up my screen so I don't have my taskbar on the screen. A nice person tried to help me but his suggestion didn't work.

Thanks

Ketel Marte just hit a walkoff home run literally out of Chase Field. 505 feet. Got a good laugh out of it.

fwiw, I have not experienced the improbable late-game hijinks of previous versions. Albeit, N=~250. Aside from that first game, no high-leverage balks called, no game-ending wild pitches, and a normal number of game-ending walks.

Reason being they don't have a license to use the actual stadium, and creating a fake one for a one off series isn't the best use of their time, development-wise. There are likely mods you could use to rectify this, if you choose to look for them.

Observation of the day:

In the 2027 season, I set draft combine follows (about 15 players) on the day they were revealed. Those were subsequently deleted by the system which I discovered a few gameplay days later. I'm unclear on what happened, hence why I'm not reporting it as a bug. The list did display as I was selecting it, so I can't imagine how it could have been user error.

F8 and Arrow Keys

I play with shift on so I'm often hitting F8 to see the hitter's tendencies. With F8 on, I then position my fielders as I see fit. Problem is, I used to be able to position my players while F8 is on. Now if I position my players with F8 on, and then turn it off to begin play, my positioned players revert back to infield normal and outfield normal. Then I have to reposition again. This never used to be the case. It would be nice to have this corrected. Has anybody else noticed this?

I also have an issue with this happening when I set my infield to Double Play. After setting to DP, if I try and pick off the runner at first, my infield is no longer in DP mode and I have to reset it again before the next pitch. Anybody else?

It would be nice if after the first time the user adjusted the defense it would lock until either the user adjusted it again, or the next batter.

I don't make adjustments while using F8, as a matter of fact I rarely use that at all. I normally just read the player's tendency. I do see my settings I've made change back if I throw over too. The one that really gets me is, LHP facing LHB, runner on 1b that is a good basestealer. Throw over and when the ball comes back to the P the AI has put in a RHB PH. Pretty much anymore late in games in that type of situation means I don't throw over. Better off taking my chances with the lefty on lefty (or sometimes righty of righty). If he steals, he steals.

Small cosmetic recommendation

Is there any way to make the draft pool box bigger? Move it up a bit. I feel like there is a lot of wasted space.

Loving the game. This may be the best OOTP so far and I've been playing since OOTP 11.

Player development still seems off to me. More than once I've had a player with minimal gains on an attribute in the player development screen only to have that attribute drop 5 points in the next player development update... Seems contradictory. At the very least makes it confusing as to what is actually happening with a players development.

Also, player ratings still seems to drop off fast over a season or two. Playing as Jays and Vladdy has lost 10 points on his power in two seasons. He's 28 now in my game, so not exactly over-the-hill.

Is player development something the devs are still looking at tweaking? Feels very different from OOTP25, for sure.

Small issue not fixed

Thanks for the great update. Last time I reported an issue where Carlos Mendoza's managerial stats for last year were not added. They still haven't been added and I hope to see this in the next patch!

thanks

HoF Issue

Great version of OOTP this year, thanks for getting patches out so quickly.

I don't know if it has come up yet, but Ichiro and C.C. are showing up on the 2026 ballot, Wagner has dropped, HoF should be updated to correct the 2025 Class.
